Blessings Everyone,

Welcome to the FIRST Quarterly Newsletter. I have enjoyed the break immensely, got a lot of work done, and did not feel rushed to get this out. I apologize to those who looked forward each month to my ramblings, but I really needed the time off (especially considering I'm retired!).

You will notice that most of the articles in this newsletter are somewhere else, or just referenced in this newsletter. We're probably going to continue doing the newsletters in this manner so that they will open easier, and we can stuff more pictures in.

Please, tell us what you think. Contact Me.

(Warning...this might just be the biggest newsletter we've ever put out...but heck, you gave me three months to do it.)

Special thanx to Emma Lewallen, Richard Mikita, M V Sears, Edward Maleszyk, and Michelle Kehoe. Without your support we can't do what we do.

And we would like to welcome Shivani Arjuna, Rick Ensminger, Joanne Marshall and Suzanne Case to our little group of volunteers. Shivani is an alternative health practitioner who has sent us some fine research. Her main focus is the roll of EMF (electromagnetic frequencies) in illness. Rick is a health freedom fighter who has put us onto the fraud in the health care system. He's simply someone who cares and wants to help and has done a lot of research on his own. Joanne and Anna are our new proofreaders who will be catching both my glaring and subtle errors. However, they haven't had near enough time to go over this humongous newsletter yet, so if you find an error, please drop me a line: info@mnwelldir.org

We have more pictures in our Online Friends, and a few of those we've had to say good-bye to. Our Prayer List is constantly being updated too.

URGENT ACTION ALERT FROM FARM AID
Deadline March 23

Farm Aid urges you to take action today to defend family farmers and protect our food supply from the threat of genetically engineered crops!

Tell the USDA that Contamination of our Food Supply is Unacceptable!

The USDA is currently seeking public comments as it reevaluates its regulations related to the genetic engineering of food. This review comes at a time when recent research highlights the serious risks that genetically engineered (GE) crops pose to conventional crops and food.

A National Academy of Sciences report found that preventing GE crops from contaminating conventional crops could not be guaranteed under the present system.  In addition, a new report by the Union of Concerned Scientists found widespread contamination of conventional crops with DNA from GE crops.

Instead of seeking to control the contamination of the food supply, the USDA is considering tolerating the presence of DNA from GE crops in conventional varieties of seed. To make matters worse, this contamination could come from plants engineered to produce pharmaceutical drugs and industrial chemicals, products never intended for the human food supply.

Genetic engineering threatens family farmers and erodes their economic security.  In addition to the threats of contamination, family farmers have lost valuable export markets as many countries have banned GE crops.  The negative economic impact of lost markets is a primary factor pushing family farmers off their land. New regulations must include a comprehensive assessment of the impact GE crops have had on farm families and their communities.

Act now to save our future of safe food from family farms!

ACTION 1: Please forward this alert to your colleagues and friends and ask them to take action to protect our food supply.  If you are not on Farm Aid’s email list, please visit www.farmaid.org and sign up today.

ACTION 2: Please submit your comments directly to the USDA at regulations@aphis.usda.gov today. The comment deadline is MARCH 23.

Tell the USDA that the contamination of our food supply with genetically modified organisms is unacceptable!  Tell them to include the following demands in the Environmental Impact Statement:

Please e-mail your comments to the USDA today! The comment deadline is MARCH 23, 2004. The USDA will NOT accept comments that are attached to emails.  Send comments to regulations@aphis.usda.gov, and include "Docket No. 03-031-2" in the subject line.

BELOW IS A SAMPLE LETTER THAT YOU CAN COPY AND PASTE AND SEND AS AN EMAIL TO THE USDA.  DO NOT SEND COMMENT AS AN ATTACHMENT- IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Act now to save our future of safe food from family farms!

Thanks,
The Farm Aid Staff

Docket No. 03-031-2
Regulatory Analysis and Development
PPD, APHIS, Station 3C71
4700 River Road, Unit 118
Riverdale, MD 20737-1238

RE:  Docket No. 03-031-2

Dear Sir or Madam:

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on USDA Docket No. 03-031-2 regarding the environmental impact statement you are in the process of developing for genetically engineered crops and organisms.

New evidence shows that contamination of non-genetically engineered (GE) crops with DNA from genetically engineered organisms is becoming an increasingly serious problem in this country. The National Research Council recently presented the USDA with a report addressing the need for biological confinement of genetically engineered organisms. Additionally, the Union of Concerned Scientists, an independent nonprofit alliance of more than 100,000 concerned citizens and scientists, just released a report demonstrating the pervasiveness of contamination in US supplies of non-GE corn, soybean and canola seeds.

It would be highly irresponsible for the USDA to ignore these recent findings and continue to allow outdoor plantings of genetically engineered crops, especially those engineered to produce pharmaceutical drugs and industrial chemicals. If open-air plantings of these "biopharm" crops are allowed, contamination of the food supply is inevitable.

I am aware that the USDA is considering allowing unapproved varieties of genetically engineered organisms to enter the food supply by exempting from regulation the occurrence of low levels of these varieties. It would be negligent for the USDA to allow varieties unapproved for human consumption to enter the food supply.

I am requesting that the following determinations be included in the Environmental Impact Statement:

Thank you for taking these concerns into consideration.

Sincerely,

Attention Gardeners!

If you love tomatoes, this year there are some very good HEALTHY varieties out there.

The Health Kick contains twice the lycopene of most tomatoes. This is the phytochemical that had been studied extensively for its anti-cancer properties. Another, Peron has more vitamin C than most and the Double Rich has double the usual vitamin C.

Here are two places that are sending us seeds to review and tell you all about next fall. But in the meanwhile, if you want flavor and vitamins and great nutrition, here are two sites you must check out:

 Knapps Fresh Vegies

Knapps tells us that many peppers too are high in vitamin C. Personally, I love a good red pepper, and if you live in the north like myself, to get them to grow you have to lay down some black plastic around them, to build up heat.

Sow Organic Seeds

We are told that you should check out their new "class" of varieties OOO: Oregon Organic Originals. The next thing after heirlooms, our new sweet corn varieties and, our South American Vegetables (be sure to click the camera icon on Yacon-Bolivian Sun Root on our order page to get a great new health angle on diabetes).

Everyone, please, if you order these new healthy varieties, we want your feedback!

What's New

The first thing we did since our last newsletter was that we broke up our Alternative Cancer Therapies page into three separate pages. I know how long it takes to open just one newsletter with the pictures and everything, but that page was becoming so large that it was unmanageable.

The next thing we did was we created a Table of Contents or Index of all our newsletters. The headings/contents are listed out in alphabetical order and if you want to re-read something we published in a newsletter but just can't remember where it was, this is the place to go. I know I do that all that time. Oftentimes, readers ask me a question, and I knew I'd written something on that a while back, but I just couldn't remember when, so now we both have a place to refresh our memories. So...here is your Index of the Newsletters

And finally, we've started indexing our reviews. They are scattered throughout articles and newsletters and since people love our reviews and thank us for our honesty and we've been privileged to try some of the best products out there, we wanted you to have easier access to these reviews so you can find and order these products. Reviews.

Both the Index of Newsletters and the Index of Reviews is located in our Articles (Table of Contents) Miscellaneous section.

We've received some very good responses to users of Omegasentials. Everyone who has tried this product has loved it and what it does for them. However, once in a while, someone writes us and tells us that their web site is not functioning and the phone number published there isn't working...let me tell you something:

Omegasentials is the best food product I've ever discovered. From the first time I used it till today, there has never been a time in which this household has gone without it. I was told by 4 physicians that the horse kick I received two years ago should have killed me. I was kicked through my belly button into my spine causing spinal column damage. There is an artery there that, at my age, should have exploded. Omegasentials provides Essential Fatty Acids in a form that is extremely bioavailable. Essential Fatty Acids are essential to good health, not optional. Our arteries need proper nutrition to stay healthy. I'm told that I have no signs whatsoever of incipient Cardiovascular Disease -- even though I smoked for 35 years (for help on quitting, you have to read How to Quit Smoking). I feel that much of my health and luck is due to the Omegasentials. The phone numbers at their site might be out of date, but the one at this site works: 612-396-9300.

It is a cell phone, so if Bill is out of cell range, you won't get an answer. These people have sunk all their money into the research and development of their products and they ran out of money for marketing and sales, so they're doing this on a tight budget. If you are an investor, they sure can use you, so give them a call. If I had the money, I'd put it on this one product simply because I've seen and felt what it can do.

Some have asked if we get a "kick-back" from any sales of Omegasentials, since we tell you to tell them we sent you.

If we get a "kick-back" or donation from a company we refer you to, we will tell you up front. Some of the products we are reviewing have offered us discounts and donations for sales, etc. If ever this is the case, we will tell you.

Personally, I can't be bought, and that is my promise to you since I don't accept a dime for my work. I do it cuz I love it and as I've told you previously, this is my healing journey and I'm happy you've come along. I report what I find to the best of my knowledge. The company, however, does need funding to keep up this work and any way we can do it that does not compromise our standards is alright with me. We need paper for printing our books, we need ink, we need money to ship, and research is not cheap (as I find out each year when I've added up expenses). Everything helps. If a company wants to donate part of its sales from our leads, then we'll gladly accept them to keep running here, but since even this is just a drop in the bucket, we're not about to tell you lies about their products to a few bucks. And always remember, an opinion is just that. You have the right to your own, but I can't give you something that I don't have, so you are getting my opinion of the products and services and books we review.

One final thing, I've created a new site dedicated to my photography. I ordered the Sony camera I was so excited about, and it's now on eBay. It takes some wonderful pictures, but not in low light, and I purchased it specifically for that purpose. So you won't be seeing any new pix from a new camera till I figure out where to go from here. All my photos are at this new site, including some that include nudity, but like anything else, you have the option not to look at them. And since we're on this subject, one of those pictures has just taken first place in our regional Veteran's Administration's art show. If you would like to see it (it contains nudity), you may click here: C. O. P. D. The new photo site is located here: David's Photo Art.

Letters

In this newsletter, I thought I'd share with you some of the reasons (letters) I keep doing this. So many write to me asking me why I do what I do while a vocal few tell me to shut up and go away.

These letters are my reward. If I made $300,000.00 yearly doing this, that money pales in comparison to the joy I get from the people who have been helped by our efforts.

But first....this one was from my brother:

We loved your salad dressing, but boy, was it rich. Couldn't take much of it.

Yup, a few have told me this (here is the recipe). But since it is so full of good things, all you have to do is thin it a bit with some yogurt. I've received letters from nutritionists who just love this recipe because it has in it everything they tell their clients to eat. But for some, adding a little lecithin or wheat germ oil will make it rather filling or rich, so just add some yogurt, or even filtered water, to thin it tad, if you need to. Another tasty suggestion is to blend in a nice fresh Red or Yellow bell pepper. We've also thinned the recipe with a fresh, cut-up, beet. Adds a bit of color to it too!

I would like you to know I very much appreciate your site and I send it to lots of people, I would also like you to know that I have used the Cansema paste on a couple of suspicious spots and they scabbed over and fell off and have not returned........

Editor's note: We like to get letters telling us the results of people's treatments. We got some good results with our Oleander Soup, some not so good, but about this Cansema stuff, we have yet to hear of a failure. If you have a bad experience with it, we want to hear that too. We have an update on Cansema in our Alternative Cancer Therapies article where we finally print the formula.

Thanks for maintaining this site. It has been a big help to us. I feel without your info that my husband would not be alive today.
Wish us luck. Vanessa

Hi, My name is Pamela . My husband Michael visited a website that really moved him recently. His therapist wants to view the web page. However Mike has lost the address for it. I was wondering if you could send me the address so I can see that it gets listed in favorites as well as given to his therapist.

I want to thank you too for the site. I have been telling Mike for years about the problems that he has in regards to Vietnam and until recently he remained in denial. Your page hit hard because it was one of the first sites that I have ever seen where everything is on one page at one time. Mike had no choice but to see a lot of himself in the page. For the first time in many many years I really feel like there is finally hope for him. We have been! married nearly 25 years and were on the brink of divorce until he saw your page. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really and truly hope and pray that someday soon, all of our guys can come home to stay. Thank you for your dedication!!!!

I wrote back to Pamela and sent her to the web site. What I told her is not really pertinent to this newsletter, but I did want to let you all know, that the article I wrote on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder has been the subject of more letters I've received than any other web page or subject. Cancer isn't even a close second, even though this web site was begun because of our research into answers for cancer. You will be interested to know that though the PTSD page was written from a soldier's viewpoint, letters from ex-soldiers, though many and varied, are not the number one letters we receive. Nearly two to one, letters from rape victims or victims of sexual abuse top the charts. My heart goes out to every person who sends me a letter like this. Some just write a few lines hoping to just get something out that's been bothering them. Some go into details. The letters are all different, but the one constant is that they've found comfort and healing at this web page.

Although I have this little handicap, I am truly blessed. When I meet St Pete at the pearly gates, that web page will be my ticket inside. My thanx to all of you, my readers, for allowing me to do this work.

One more thing: we're reviewing a book on healing PTSD called, Understanding Trauma just a bit further on in this newsletter.

One letter I've received a lot lately is one asking me what I think of Kerry and how he sold out our soldiers during the Vietnam War.

I'm well aware that in General Giap's biography (he ran the army of our enemy) he said that the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (an organization that Kerry joined) helped them win the war; kept them from surrendering.

Update: I have read Giap's book. There is no mention of the VVAW or Kerry or even surrender. This urban legend was begun by Oliver North on Hannity's TV program.

How do I feel?

First off, I don't think anyone has it together at the age of 22. Kerry didn't. I didn't. Bush didn't. However, both Kerry and I served. Bush learned to fly a plane that was obsolete rather than blow out an eardrum or flee to Canada (his words).

Next, I am among a minority of Nam vets who believes we should not have been there in the first place, that it was an un-winnable war, that we were the enemy. Most of my Nam vet friends feel that we should have won that war. I believe that we shouldn't have been there in the first place. The Vietnamese were fighting for self-rule and for freedom from oppression. Ho Chi Mihn's Declaration of Independence was lifted right from Jefferson. We should have never been there. In fact, we should have been helping them to gain the freedoms we all take for granted.

Saying this, I can say that what Kerry did was save lives, in the long run. Ending the war quickly and getting our boys back saved a lot of lives.

However, staring at the big picture, I don't see that much difference between Kerry and Bush. Democrats and Republicans are just two sides to the same coin.

Personally, I'd like to just toss out the coin.

"No offense to casual dieters . . .."

No offense to anyone gullible to be sucked in by this come-on.

"It's not your fault that you're fat."

Nope, it's the fault of all that food that snuck into your mouth when you weren't paying attention.

"Stress hormones cause fat to gather around your hips and buttocks."

Yup, all that stress from sitting on your ass all day long.

The bottom line is: no pill is going to make you thin. No diet is going to keep you thin, unless you stay on it. Eating right and exercising is a full time job.

And if suppressing stress hormones was all it took to lose weight, why was the Buddha so fat? Meditation helps to eliminate stress hormones, so go meditate.

"If you're concerned your child isn't getting adequate nutrition, ask your doctor about PediaSure."

If you're concerned your child isn't getting adequate nutrition, ask you doctor if s/he's had any training in nutrition. Most physicians have less than two hours of nutrition education, and most of that is so far behind the times as to be worthless. Ask your physician if s/he has ever studied orthomolecular biology. Ask your physician if s/he knows anything beyond what they spoon fed him/her in med school. Most don't. But it's always comforting to ask your doctor.

This is Allen. He has cancer. This is Sarah. they've been together 46 years. This is the number they called when he was diagnosed: 1.800.ACS.2345 -- so they could get answers to their questions. So they could get thru this, together. This is the American Cancer Society. This is who to call for help.

No, this is the American Cancer Society:

1. The largest and wealthiest non-profit in America.

2. Begun by the Rockefellers who controlled the pharmaceutical industry.

3. Though they preach the healing power of foods, they've never sunk a single cent into non-drug, non-surgical, and non-radiation therapies/research.

4. They have spent a lot of money suppressing food therapies, claiming for years that nutrition had no connection to health and wellness, and even testified (in congressional hearings) against successful physicians using food therapies.

5. While publishing pamphlets on food therapies, they have never focused on organic foods and have never preached against environmental (pesticides, etc) factors in cancer because many of their supporters are the companies poisoning our planet. Board members have been heads of the chemical industry.

6. They do not focus on prevention; they tell women that breast cancer cannot be prevented, and they focus on expensive testing and early detection that leads to early mutilation and poisoning.

This is the American Cancer Society. Emotional Racketeers and Part of the Problem.

Atomic Iodine

So we're in the atomic age and we need things with atomic names. Atomic Iodine has had a few names: Atomidine and Detoxified Iodine are two more. Edgar Cayce came up with this during one of his trances. We have a short biography of Edgar Cayce as well as an interesting history of iodine, because it ushered in scientific nutritional medicine: History of Iodine. A special surprise for you is our review of two forms of Atomidine, which is a highly recommended product to have in your medicine chest or first aid kit. Personally, I feel that the Atomidine from Cayce Concepts is among the best products ever discovered in this journey. Read the reviews.

Gas Prices Rising?
Want better Gas Mileage?
A Product Review

Years ago, I met a man here in Minneapolis by the name of Teak Kilmer. He sold me a massage table just about the same time the idea of putting together a local directory of practitioners and businesses had hit me. Since then, Teak has always tried to help out. He likes the work we do for the community and he likes the research we publish.

Just about a month ago, Teak came to us with a new product that was touted to increase gas mileage and cut exhaust emissions. He asked us to test it for ourselves. He came to us for two reasons. First he liked our work, and secondly he wanted to support us. We tested the device. It works. It works well. And when I told Teak this, he said great, now send us some customers and we’ll donate 25% of our sales to your organization. What a bonus!

Let me first tell you about the device. It consists of 3 very powerful magnets that oppose each other. As you know, in magnetism, opposites attract. The device fits together over your fuel line, with the same poles facing each other, repelling, as it were. The magnetic force, in theory, breaks apart fuel molecules as they pass through this force and makes them more readily attach to oxygen molecules. Thusly attached, the fuel is more efficiently burned. An engine that burns fuel more efficiently gets better mileage, lasts longer, and produces fewer emissions.

I constantly monitor my fuel mileage, simply because if it were to drop, that is the first sign that something is wrong. The more efficient an engine, the healthier it is. (The same with your computer; if suddenly it’s running slower, you’ve probably got some sort of spyware or worm or Trojan horse.)

So over the past two years since I purchased my car, I’ve seen the gas mileage fluctuate from 24.2 mph to 28.3 mph. In Minnesota we have city driving, highway driving, and snow driving. Snow driving is where your wheels turn two miles for every one mile driven.

Since hooking up the device, the worst gas mileage I’ve gotten was 27 mph. The best I’ve gotten was 35.5 mph. Most of the time, since I live in the country, the gas mileage has been 33.5 to 34.5.

Something like this can pay for itself in a pretty short time, if you drive a lot (or if gas prices rise … or if the pope’s catholic). When Teak told me that he’d donate 25% of the sales generated by our review, I figured, well, why not go ahead and spend a little money to really test this, and I brought it in to get the emissions tested. I’d just had the emissions tested prior to putting the device on the car, but that didn’t matter, since, well, here’s what happened:

The technician had me start the car, run it for a while, and then turn it off. I sat in the car listening to a CD while the technician jabbered behind the car with someone he’d called over after I shut my engine off. He came to my window and asked me to again start my car. It ran for a bit, and then he came back to tell me to turn it off. He went back and jabbered a bit more with the other guy, then came and took my credit card, filled out the form, and got me a receipt. I was curious as to what was going on, and he said, "Well, I was sure that my equipment failed cuz your exhaust was so low. I just did three Saturns today already, all three of ‘em newer than yours, but yours hardly registered. Had to test it again just to make sure." He showed me the figures and said, "That right there’s half what they registered." Sure enough, the hydrocarbon emissions were 51.2% less than my previous test. I told him about the device and his eyes lit up. He then related to me that just a week earlier another guy had come in and his emissions were so low he had to check his again just to make sure. The guy had left him a card and a web site to visit, but the technician had thought the guy was nuts. He reached in his wallet and pulled out the card and said, "I think I’m gonna give this guy a call."

I’m happy with the device. It wasn’t as easy to install it as the brochure had boasted. My mechanic, an old fellow who’s seen devices come and go, told me he’d be glad to put it on for me for free just to see if it worked. He tried to put it up near the engine, but he told me, after a half hour of futzing around, that he needed two more hands to do it, and that all four hands would be too much to get into that tiny area. We put the car on the hoist and found a spot below the car that was just perfect. It still wasn’t all that easy to put on, since the magnets were forcing the device to stay open when we were trying to close it. The whole time he worked on the car he told me stories of other so-called "gas saving devices" that people had brought to him in the past. He said only one ever showed any promise and that was if you drove the car for two hundred miles straight. As he lowered the car off the hoist he said to me, "If you wanna know my opinion, you got took."

Well, it works, and it works pretty well. The device, though seemingly simple in design, has three patents and all sorts of science in it that didn’t even get put into the patents (this way no one can reverse engineer it).

One more thing, the fuel line must not have any steel/iron in it (a metal attracted to a magnet). Some of the new gas lines for fuel injected cars have metal in them. I was lucky in that my gas line is a brand new space-age plastic.

If you want to see the research done on this device and the success they’re having go to http://www.myenergycel.com/index.html. Apparently, the older the car, the better the results.

The company is very new and if you want to become a distributor, this is the best time to get started. They are so new, they don’t even have individual web sites for their distributors yet. So to get started, get a unit, or become a distributor (and support our work here) you’re going to have to call Teak and Joanne at 612.781.7221 or send email to joanneteak@yahoo.com. And don’t forget to tell them the International Wellness Directory sent you.

The History of Vitamins

The discovery of vitamins is less than 100 years old. They are oftentimes the most controversial of substances around. On NBC Nightly News, you can always find some fat old physician telling you that vitamins are worthless unless you want expensive urine. The AMA at a moment's notice can find ten physicians to stand up in a court of law and state, under oath, that vitamins have nothing to do with health. You can also find ten tobacco executives to stand up and tell you that tobacco isn't addictive.

The history of vitamins is an ongoing thing. Every day we learn more. Vitamin J is touted by some revolutionary nutritionists, while others don't recognize it. So, for a history of Vitamins, click here: Show Me The History! but keep in mind that we're going to have to update this as tomorrow turns into today and today is put to rest in the annals of history, for the nutritional sciences are truly still in their infancy.

CURRENT HEADLINES IN NUTRITION

Your rights to vitamins and supplements are always being chipped away by the pharmaceutical powers. The less healthy you are, the richer they are and this is simple mathematics.

In Europe, vitamins and supplements are under attack. Will it happen here? You bet. Once international law is set, the FDA need not even ask congress to enact the laws here. Huge Supplements Ban Coming to Europe.

The Politix of Wellness

Someone wrote me a letter suggesting that I avoid politics in my newsletter. Health is a political issue. The far right wants to turn over our failed system to the moneyed powers that created the failure. The far left wants to socialize medicine. Neither is acceptable, for both systems will be in the hands of those fat cats that have caused the problems we have today, but one will be dressed up nicer than the other.

Albert Einstein once said "Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them."

You can add to that: Problems cannot be solved by the same people who created them, especially if they profited from their creation.

I believe in adequate health care for all people, but giving everyone drugs is the silliest thing I ever heard. Alternative medicine is a misnomer. It is not the alternative, but rather the truest form of medicine, for it is the medicine of wellness.

To your doctor, preventive medicine is a checkup using expensive tests and catching a problem earliest (so they can toss the best medicine in the world at you right away).

True preventive medicine is caring for your self and avoiding the problems. True preventive care is finding imbalances in your system before they become symptoms. True preventive care is eating right, thinking right, and being at peace with yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your higher power.

Physicians do not deal in health, they deal in disease. Show up for preventive care, and your doc will not know how to bill your insurance. You have to have a problem to bill the insurance.

The reason our health care system today is in the sad shape it is, and you will see this as our History of Medicine series continues, is that we have created a medical monopoly. We have a system that believes in ONLY drugs, surgery, and radiation. Sure, they tip their hats to massage therapy, physical therapy, nutrition, acupuncture, and the rest, but when it comes to illness, there are only drugs, surgery, and radiation. All other forms of healing have been superceded and crushed out of existence.

Do you want a solution to the health care crisis?

First, let me ask you this: What is it that most have, but no one is satisfied with. You hardly ever hear anyone telling you how great their ____________ is. In fact, it doesn't do this, doesn't allow for that, charged you too much for this, and is totally inadequate to begin with. It costs the average person in American $3,700.00 per year. No one is ever happy with it and it is cursed, vilified, and scoffed at. However, if a person is applying for a job, and this is not included as a benefit, WELL! this will not do! We need it! I need it! I'll have to look for a job that supplies it!

What is it? ---------------------- > Health insurance.

Funny stuff, this health insurance. You see, we the people hold the power. We all do. The rich know and practice what the poor will never understand; that there is power in numbers. We quoted John D Rockefeller in our last newsletter when he said: "Competition is a sin." You do not get rich competing with everyone; you get rich forming alliances.

People hold the power in sheer numbers alone. We the people outnumber the less than 1% who own this country. We have the money they want. We have the power.

But, for the sake of security, we're willing to give up our money (power) to insurance companies.

Do you REALLY want a solution to the health care crisis?

Get together with 50 people, and with your $3,700.00 per person, hire a private physician. That's $185,000.00 for a physician to rent an office, hire a receptionist and a nurse, and earn a darn good living caring for just 50 people. Imagine the time he'll spend on the golf course!

Ok, so what about hospitalization? you ask. Ok, find 50 more people and you have $185,000.00 more to give your doctor a raise (well, now he's got 100 patients) and the rest goes into a hospitalization plan.

What about catastrophic insurance? What if we need a specialist? What if the doctor gets sick or goes on vacation?

Ok, get 50 more people, and that will go into catastrophic insurance, pay for a back up physician, and take care of specialists and pay your doctor even a bit more. Now he has 150 patients. At the rate most get sick, he'll see about two people a day on the average. He's still not very overworked.

So, for an even better program, get just 50 more (that's 200 people all together) and take that money and build a wellness center onto your doctor's office, with a massage therapist, yoga teacher, nutritionist, lamas classes, a nurse midwife on call, qigong classes, acupuncturist on call, you name it. This is YOUR program, because YOU design what you need. You can have weekly classes in nutritional cooking, stress reduction, biofeedback, or Pilates. And your doctor will love you for it because the healthier you are, the more time he'll spend on his boat or playing golf.

Do you understand the implications here? Really? Without the drug and insurance industry's interference, a physician practicing a solid preventive medical program will benefit everyone. You'll stay healthy and he'll have all the free time to practice his putting. Everyone benefits, including your boss: less down time due to illness.

This is a win/win situation. You get preventive care, a personal physician, catastrophic insurance, hospitalization, and at the same time, it's your money, your power, your life. You are not giving it over to someone else.

Think about it. All you have to do is organize. It is so simple, that you'll say to yourself, Why didn't I think of this. Why? Mainly because you're not rich. The rich know to form alliances. The rest of us know how to complain and blame everyone else for our failures. (I know, I've been counted among the complainers and blamers.)

We have the power. Keep it. Use it. Express it.

Now for some more political wellness news....

BUSH PAYS BACK DRUG INDUSTRY BY MISLEADING SENIORS
From the Daily Mislead: http://daily.mislearder.org

President Bush has done a lot of favors for those who have given him money, but few have benefited so handsomely from their financial ties to him than the drug industry and CEOs like Pfizer's Hank McKinnell - a Bush campaign "Ranger." While the president said he wants to give "older Americans better choices and more control over their health care", he is actually refusing to let seniors purchase lower-priced, FDA-approved medicines from Canada. While a recent poll shows that two-thirds of Americans support giving seniors this right and while governors from both parties support the idea, drug companies like Pfizer universally opposed the idea because it would cut into the billions of dollars in profits they make each year bilking Americans with high prices. President Bush, unfortunately, has sided with Pfizer and against seniors, prohibiting seniors from purchasing lower priced medicines from Canada.  Here are the details of the scam:

THE PAYOFF
President Bush and his Republican allies have taken at least $74 million in hard and soft money contributions from the drug industry since 2000. That's about $48,000 per day or $2,033 per hour, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to President Bush since 2000 - a hefty salary, even for a well-heeled lobbyist. On one night in 2002 alone, the president and his allies raked in $30 million from the drug industry, with pharmaceutical companies paying $250,000 "for red-carpet treatment" by the president just two days after his Capitol Hill allies unveiled an industry-backed Medicare bill.

The Bush campaign's top individual donors - euphemistically named "Rangers" and "Pioneers" - are also chock full of drug industry executives. Hank McKinnell, chairman and CEO of Pfizer, "has pledged to raise $200,000" for the Bush campaign, while "in-house lobbyists from Bayer Corp, AstraZeneca and Wyeth were named Pioneers." And the president has not just used traditional channels to line his campaign's warchest with drug industry cash: in 2001, the president took $625,000 from the industry to help pay for his lavish inaugural parties.

THE PAYBACK
With states, cities, and individual seniors struggling to pay the skyrocketing costs of prescription drugs, many have defied federal law and traveled to Canada to purchase lower-priced medicines. The drug industry, whose ability to keep prices artificially high in the United States is threatened by reimportation, has opposed these efforts and enlisted President Bush to kill all legislation to formally legalize reimportation. Just last year, Congress passed a version of reimportation, but the president stripped out the provisions from the final Medicare bill. Recently, when a coalition of bipartisan lawmakers asked to meet with the president and his health officials on the subject, they refused, and instead attended "a meeting sponsored by reimportation opponents."

Now, with pressure mounting from seniors and powerful lawmakers like Senator John McCain (R-AZ), the president has resorted to outright dishonesty in his fight to keep medicine prices high. Specifically, he is claiming that importing prescription drugs from Canada is "unsafe" - yet even his own Administration's health "officials can't name a single American who's been injured or killed by drugs bought from licensed Canadian pharmacies." As the president's own top FDA health official admitted, "I can't think of one thing off the top of my head where somebody died or somebody got put in the hospital because of these medications. I just don't know if there's anything like that." Professor Paul L. Doering, one of the nation's leading experts, said the Administration's argument is "hogwash" as "drugs purchased through the Canadian health care system are every bit as safe as those available in the United States." He said simply that the Bush Administration's tactics are "a smokescreen thrown up to conceal [their] unseemly coziness with the drug industry."

New Medicare Bill: Rewarding Industry, Not Seniors?

President Bush has promised that his new Medicare bill will help seniors with their soaring prescription drug costs, and that his new bill contains special tax subsidies to encourage employers to continue coverage and not cut off seniors' benefits.

But the Wall Street Journal and MoveOn.org have recently reported on a little-noticed provision in the bill that actually lets companies drastically reduce, or almost completely eliminate, seniors' drug benefits, and still get this tax subsidy.

And even worse, the companies and executives which were major backers of this provision are big campaign contributors to President Bush as well.

BUSH THREATENED TO FIRE OFFICIAL FOR TELLING THE TRUTH

During this time of record deficits, President Bush promised the country that his drug-industry backed Medicare bill would cost $395 billion. (1) But just weeks after he signed the bill into law, his own budget office admitted that the bill would actually cost well over $500 billion. (2) And today a new report shows that the President knew that the bill cost more than he had claimed, and yet he deliberately hid the information from the public until the legislation was already signed into law.

As revealed in an exclusive Knight-Ridder report, the White House threatened to fire its own top Medicare actuary "if he told lawmakers about a series of Bush administration cost estimates" that priced the bill at more than $500 billion. (3) At the time, conservative Republicans had "vowed to vote against the Medicare drug bill if it cost more than $400 billion."  This
means that the president deliberately misled members of his own party on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry that pushed the bill and has been a top contributor to his campaign. (4) As Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC) said, "I think a lot of people probably would have reconsidered" voting for the bill had they not been deliberately misled by the White House.

At Knight-Ridder's website you can see the full text of the 6/26/03 email that Medicare's top actuary Richard S. Foster sent to colleagues informing them of the White House threat. (5)

Two Healthy Recipes

So far, everyone has loved the healthy recipes we share here, but I've gotten a lot of inquiries about condiments. You make a nice organic burger, put it on hemp bread, garnish with veggies, but use ordinary ketchup. Some tell me that organic ketchup is just way too expensive.

One thing we've learned is that home made things are more alkalizing than the store bought versions. We wrote about pickles: you make them at home using Celtic Sea Salt® Brand, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, and fresh cucumbers from your garden and you have an alkalizing treat. The same thing from the store will turn you acidic. Click to read our Healthy Pickle Recipes.

So, I've done a bit of research, a few experiments, and here are two recipes that are alkalizing and are cheaper than the organic versions found in the stores, but all ingredients are organic. These are even cheaper than their high priced non organic brands.

ALL INGREDIENTS SHOULD BE ORGANIC!

Ketchup

2 6oz Cans Tomato Paste
3/4 Cup Honey (some may want just 1/2 Cup)
1 Cup Unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar (if using Coconut Vinegar, you might want 3/4 Cup)
1/2 Cup Water
2 Tbs Maple Syrup
2 tsp Celtic Sea Salt® Brand
1/2 tsp Onion Powder (personally I make onion juice and use a teaspoon)
1/8 Crushed Garlic

Combine all the ingredients (careful with the garlic, just a little) in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until smooth. When mixture comes to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often. Remove, cover, and cool. Chill and store in a covered container.

* * *

Mock Miracle Whip - There are many Mayo recipes, but we've been asked to find a Mock Miracle Whip recipe.

4 Egg Yolks
1 tsp Celtic Sea Salt® Brand
2 tsp Dry Mustard
6 Tbs Unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar
3 Cups Safflower Oil
3 Tbs Arrow Root Powder (or Corn Starch or cake flour)
1 Cup Water
2 Tbs Honey
1/4 Cup Unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tbs Celtic Sea Salt® Brand

UPDATE: I've since found out that my bachelor method of measuring honey is quite different from the average cook's method. I scoop the tablespoon into my gallon of honey and slap the whole thing into the recipe. My tablespoon is at least two tablespoons. So you might want to put in 4 to 5 tablespoons of honey to get my recipe. And since creating this recipe, I've learned to put a quarter cup of lemon juice in the recipe. It really adds flavor, and helps preserve the mixture. I've been told that it's been good for over a month.

Also Note: there is a variation of this recipe in our Coconut Recipes that uses coconut oil and one variation with a quarter cup of flax oil.

Using a mixer, blend egg yolks, salt, dry mustard, and 2 tablespoons of the vinegar. Very slowly add 1 cup of Safflower oil. Now, I've never had any luck doing this, because I'm very impatient. So, take a large funnel, put a plastic bag with a tiny hole in the bottom inside, and allow the oil to drip drip drip. The idea is to get lots of air into the oil, and if you put it in too fast, the air just doesn't get there.

Mix it thoroughly, and then add the remaining oil a little faster (but not too fast) blending and whipping it all up thoroughly before adding more. Then add the remaining 4 tablespoons of vinegar.

In a medium saucepan (first clean the ketchup out of it) stir up the remaining ingredients: water, honey, 1/4 cup vinegar, and Arrow Root powder while heating. Cook to a smooth paste stirring often. Blend this hot mixture into the original mixture, pour it into a container, and let cool in the fridge. It lasts only about a week, so use it up quickly.

GEIPE

A Promising But Shunned Cancer Treatment

UPDATE (2/1/08): From the GEIPE center: Based on recent observations, we have to conclude that non-invasive GEIPE therapy (self-remedy) is only effective in early stages and when tumor is just under the surface (like some breast cancers). This is due to the fact that most current, when passed thru surface electrodes, seems to go around, rather than thru, the cancerous tissue. Prolong treatments are not feasible due to the likelihood of skin burns.   We are thus focusing on Semi-invasive GEIPE method where exposed tip of a needle electrode is inserted in the tumor and it has shown encouraging results. Only medical professionals can administer this treatment.

Understanding how cancer starts, metabolizes, and spreads has lead to some very promising cancer therapies. GEIPE or Gentle Electrotherapy to Inhibit Pivotal Enzyme, offers us a look into the growth of cancer and subsequent inhibition of that growth.

There is a "pivotal enzyme" in the growth of cancers. It is called Ribonucleotide Reductase. In a healthy person, or healthy organ, this enzyme is hardly noticed. In fact, of all the anabolic enzymes, its quantity in a cell is the least, that is, in a healthy organ. In an organ affected by cancer, the quantity of Ribonucleotide Reductase, or RR, can be nearly 800 times greater

Many dollars have gone into researching means of inhibiting RR in cancer patients. However, nothing has come out, except perhaps a few yachts and some Ivy League diplomas.

GEIPE offers a means of suppressing the RR enzyme with a gentle, low-level direct electrical current. Ralph Moss, a journalist and health freedom fighter points to at least ten references in scientific literature where low-level direct current has been found to inhibit the RR enzyme. No one understands why this happens or how, but it seems to work. A primary article is: Kulsh, J. (1997) Targeting a key enzyme in cell growth: a novel therapy for cancer. Medical Hypotheses 49, 297-300.

The problem is, who in the world is going to profit from sending a few cents of electricity into your body? Health care is about profit, and no one will profit from this, and no one is researching it . . . until now.

At Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, a Dr William Pawluk, MD is offering this cancer treatment, both non-invasively and invasively in a clinical trial. Devices are being used in the Orient, and they are now available to people in this country, free of charge IF THEY DO NOT WORK, all you have to do is purchase the electrodes, and return the box if it does not work. If it works, the person offering the box asks you to send him $100.

The actual device costs (plus shipping and electrodes) around two hundred forty dollars and is as big (or as small) as a deck of cards. I know exactly how much it costs, because I bought one and will allow one special reader to use it for free, but more on that later.

The instructions for use are located here: http://www.cancer-treatment.net/GEIPE-Instructions.htm In fact, the GEIPE web site, managed by a scientist, not a physician, is www.cancer-treatment.net. Jay, the person in charge there, is a wonderful human being who simply wants to help people. He's not about to get rich selling these things at $100 a crack.

The device is made to be used in the home, but for you to get the device you must write to Jay telling him that you have read and understood the instructions and all the pages he wants you to read. You have to use the treatment 4 to 8 hours a day, but only in two hour increments with an hour's hiatus in between. The treatment is expected to last just around two months, though it could take longer.

If you want to try this for yourself, you must send me a letter telling me you want to try it. I will then send you links that you must read and write me a letter (snail mail) stating that you have read and understood all the instructions and the pages. You must include in that letter a deposit for $240.00 and shipping (which will be arranged at that time). I will ship you the device and both pages you've stated that you've read (just in case you forget).

I would love to just ship this out to anyone, but I am still stinging from the Curaderm I've gotten for folks, and then never received a dime for my efforts, leaving me some $300 in the hole.

And one more thing, you have to write a testimonial on how it worked or did not work.

Write to me.

Cesium Chloride

We've only talked briefly about Cesium Chloride here at this site because it can be a dangerous substance. Not many of the cancer therapies we discus at this web are dangerous. However, if used wrong, Cesium Chloride can kill you.

Cesium Chloride is usually mixed with Rubidium. These two mixed together, turn your body alkaline, and turn it alkaline fast.

If you're new here, we've previously talked about the body's pH. For a good introduction to a healthy terrain and why medicine doesn't focus on it, read The Lost History of Medicine. Next you'll want to read How To Alkalize. As for Cesium Chloride at this site, we're going to add it to the article Products To Help You Alkalize and to our Alternative Cancer Therapies

Cesium Chloride (and Rubidium) is one of the most alkaline minerals in the world. Cancer, microbes, viruses, bacteria, yeast and fungi cannot live in an alkaline environment. This is a simple fact.

Cesium therapy is thought to be one of the most effective cancer therapies known. However, when I hear that anything is 100% effective, I tend to ignore this. But stories are circulating that Cesium Therapy is saving lives everywhere.

In 1984 Keith Brewer, PhD (Physics) translated Warburg's theories into a practical, cost efficient treatment protocol for cancer. Brewer successfully treated 30 patients with various cancers, using Cesium, nature's most alkaline mineral. The results of Brewer's work -- all 30 survived. [Cancer Cover-up, The Neal Deoul Story]

Cesium can be abused. Most sites will not tell you that it leeches potassium from your body and that cardiac fibrillation or cardiac arrest is not far off.

Side effects can feel like a slight flu, and your nose and lips will probably tingle. If you overdose your head will tingle and feel like its about to explode.

Cesium therapy should be used only under professional supervision and with a good potassium supplement.

My personal experience with Cesium was that it tastes terrible but works quickly. I had a touch of Fibromyalgia which started receding within three days of starting on Cesium and Potassium.

Although many say that Cesium Therapy is all you need, we would hope that you would make life style and dietary changes and use cesium as a part of your program and not its focus.

We've checked around, and it seems that the best cesium products come from Canada: www.rainbowminerals.net. You can order a bottle of Cesium Chloride/Rubidium and a bottle of Potassium, both in a liquid form and very bioavailable, for right around $110.00. Yes, they are salts, they taste salty. The dosage is a tablespoon from each bottle, twice a day with meals.

Turmeric
A spice and much more!

Curcumin is the main biologically active phytochemical compound of Turmeric. As you should know, an herb is much more than its active ingredient.

We've talked about turmeric and curcumin previously at this site, but to sum up what we've said in the past: Curcumin is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory with anti-cancer properties. For you who would like to read a couple of studies: Iqbal M, et al. Pharmacol Toxicol. 2003 Jan;92(1):33-8) and  J Pharm Pharmacol. 2003 Jul;55(7):981-6.

We received a letter from a healer who wanted to give us a little treatment she's developed, and since she did not want to go into the different properties and healing capabilities of curcumin, we'll list those here that have been researched (extensively, we might add).

Anti-carcinogenic - Inhibits carcinogenesis, potent anti-cancer properties
Antiarthritic
Anticoagulant & Antithrombotic prevents blood clotting, thins the blood
Antioxidant (potent) - protects against free radical damage
Antihypertensive - lowers blood pressure
Antihypercholesterolemic - helps prevent oxidation of blood cholesterol
Lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol levels
Increases HDL (good) cholesterol levels
Antihyperlipemic - Hypolipidemic action (lowers blood fats)
Cholagogue - Increases catabolism of cholesterol into bile acids
Antimutagenic action
Antihepatotoxic action
Chemoprotective agent
Antiedemic - anti-excessive fluid
Reduces beta-amyloids (linked to Alzheimer's disease)
Hepatoprotective (protects the liver) action
Protects against kidney injury
Antitumor - suppresses tumor growth
Protect against/lessens kidney lesions
Relieves pain and inflammation in mucosal tissue
Carminative - increases the production of digestive fluids and reduce gas
Depurative - promotes excretion and removal of waste material
Anti-inflammatory
Antiviral
Antimicrobial
Antiparasitic

So, with this in mind, here is a little home remedy sent to us by our friend, Shivani

Turmeric has so many healing properties it would take some time to mention them all.  An amazing anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral....   And it is wonderful on wounds and injuries.  I am thinking about this because yesterday evening I badly sprained one of my fingers.  By bedtime, my hand was swelling and turning color.  And it hurt!  I yelped if I tried to use the finger.  Could not even pick up a cup.  Could neither close my hand nor open it, for pain and swelling.   I couldn't fall asleep due to the pain, so I got up and invented a turmeric poultice system that wouldn't stain my nice flannel sheets.  (Turmeric does dye things forever yellow.)

I cut a small rectangle out of some old cotton undies, put a hole in the center for the finger, and slipped that over the finger.  Then smeared a thick layer of ghee (To carry the healing properties of the dry turmeric into the tissues.) over the affected areas on both sides of my hand, dropped onto that all the turmeric that would stick, patted the cotton fabric over it and taped the edges.  Then I cut the toe end of off a fairly thick old cotton sock, cut four holes for my fingers in it and slipped it on, to soak up the inevitable turmeric seeping from the poultice.  Taped the edges down and went back to bed.  Could feel the pain let up in about half an hour.  Slept well and woke to find that I could bend and use my finger, open and close my hand and use it, without pain.  The back of my hand is still puffy, but rosy rather than bluish purple.  My doctor/friend Roy was impressed.

I have lost track of the burns, cuts, scrapes and bruises that I have treated with turmeric, with very satisfying and speedy results.  Now I can add sprain to that list.
     -One is enough, though.
     Regards,
     Shivani

Special Bonus

Here is a recipe from the Middle East that I picked up while living in Israel. Excuse the fact that this is a bachelor's recipe (no exact amounts) but I'm sure you'll have no problem with it.

Ingredients:

Baby Carrots
Olive Oil (extra virgin)
Turmeric powder
Honey

Put the carrots into a pot and add water just up the top layer of carrots, then add olive oil so that it covers the top layer of carrots. Then add some Tumeric powder (a couple of tablespoons? maybe more? don't skimp) then add some honey (to taste -- I put a good dollop in there). Then cook it all at a low boil till the water has evaporated leaving only the carrots swimming in a sweet, yellow sauce. Serve cold. It's delicious!

An Herb is More Than Its Active Ingredient

Something for my readers who want to take a vitamin; it's a short article that has a lot of truth in it: An Herb is More than its Active Ingredient

The History of Quackery

I have truly enjoyed researching and writing this article. I've actually found enough information to write an Encyclopedia of Quackery. However, I condensed it for your enjoyment: The History of Quackery.

Now, that you've read the article (I'm assuming you clicked on the link and read it), from now on, we're going to call a spade a spade. What we truly have in this country is fraud, Medical Fraud. Once in a while someone comes along with some sort of quack remedy designed to get him or her rich quick, but this is a rarity to the out and out medical fraud in this country that reaches up into the billions of dollars.

In a series future articles we will be covering in depth medical fraud in America. The biggest fraud in America concerns cancer. In fact, I shall give you a little preview of things to come in future articles. (My thanx to Rick Ensminger for doing a lot of the original legwork on this.)

I’ve often mentioned at this site that conventional medicine can cure, overall, just 30% of all cancers. At the same time, I’ve stated that 30% of all cancers go away on their own. Well, I’ve not been totally accurate. The number is actually one third, or 33% if you're rounding. Thirty-three and a third percent if you need even more accuracy.

The following are the figures today that the American Cancer Society publishes.

Since the mid seventies when Richard Nixon launched the War on Cancer we’ve put billions of dollars into cancer research. In the mid seventies, only 33% of all cancers were curable. Today, after billions of dollars and years of research, that number has risen to a totally unremarkable 40%.

Yes, that’s right, just a 7% increase in the five year survival rate for all cancers combined.

We are told that people are living longer with cancer. We are told we are winning the war on cancer. We are told lies.

Statistically, that 7% could easily be the result of a few things your doctor doesn’t even know or want to admit.

The main reason people are living longer is that the cancers are detected earlier.

Another thing we’ve discovered is that there are actually three types of tumors. We have been told that a tumor is either benign or malignant. However, biostatistician Irwin Bross, by using statistical analysis alone, was able to determine that there was a third; a third type of tumor that is not malignant, but can turn malignant if triggered. What are the triggers? Chemotherapy and radiation.

Why are breast cancers and prostate cancers and penile cancers so curable when conventional medicine hasn’t made any progress with lung cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer? Mainly because the former would probably not kill the person in the first place.

In other words, screening finds tumors that are easily cured, that would not have killed the person in the first place and these types of tumors have contributed to the meager 7% increase in survival. In other words, we're finding more tumors sooner, and though they look deadly under a microscope, they are not, if they are left alone (as they have been in the past, before the invention of high-tech, costly diagnostic machinery).

Study after study shows that in most cases, no therapy is just as good as conventional therapy. And we have the studies to prove this (published in the top medical journals). Medicine has been taking credit for cures that would have happened on their own, and have been rushing people to their graves earlier than would have happened had they been left alone. Mammograms cause cancer. This is a fact. I don’t care how many people you know who were saved by a mammogram, they cause cancer. Being saved by a mammogram is like being saved by a gun while playing Russian roulette.

We have the figures, we found the authorities who will tell you the truth. The problem is, as Bross puts it, "Myths are invulnerable to truth." We love the myths. We support the myths. Our society is based upon myths. Yet, these myths are killing us.

Time to stand up for our rights and take back our health.

However, in the meanwhile, here are some links to the outright fraud committed against cancer patients that I found at a site I frequent called The Campaign For Truth.  You have lots to read during the three month hiatus between issues of our newsletter.

Meet Salley Enterprises

Review: Miracle Skin™

I love this job. People call me up and tell me the nicest things. This is how I met Ron Salley. He called me up and said he loved my site and my newsletter. He said, "I’ve got something I want you to try."

He told me a little bit about his product, some skin care formulas that he would send to me.

Ron has a degree in Geology and worked in the oil industry most of his early business career and then got into the stock market as a broker for a major firm. Moving to Colorado in the early seventies, he suddenly got the urge to make a moisturizing cream. He'd had an interest in natural herbs and their qualities. He knew that to extract the good stuff from herbs, you had to heat them up. Well, heating things tends to destroy them. He wanted to develop a way to extract the phytochemicals without using heat, but everywhere he went, he was told it was impossible. Well, like most innovators, Ron doesn’t know the meaning of the word impossible, and after 9 years, he did it: the impossible. By the end of 1981, he had developed an all natural skin moisturizer that had all the healing properties of the herbs from which he'd extracted the phytochemicals with his own, unique process.  He says, "I found a way of blending the ingredients at a very low temperature without destroying the healing properties locked up inside the herbals and botanicals. This was the key for the success of the entire formulating process." Not content with just a moisturizer, he says, "From the base formulation I went into many spin-offs of adding or deleting many combinations of herbals and botanicals in natural oil base. The products just got better and better."

He sent me some samples of his Miracle Skin™, Healon. I sent them to folks to use and so far, have gotten back some good reports. Personally, after I’d experimented with Master’s Miracle (see below for the whole story) and created a goodly sized scab on my face, I put the Healon on it twice daily, and in three days I had fresh pink skin.

He also sent me some Sugarfoot, which I immediately fell in love with. In the winter time my feet dry out and crack something terrible. You’ll often see me limping slightly because of the deep cracks in my feet. Well, I didn’t use the products right away, after receiving them. Silly me. I’m just an airhead most of the time, always focused on something and ignoring everything else around me. But one day, I felt a crack starting in my heel. It burned to walk. When I examined the heel, I discovered that the crack was below the skin, below a callous. So I began putting on the Sugarfoot in the morning and at night, and within just three short days, the crack healed. I was amazed, because on the fifth day, the crack made its way to the surface. I could see it plainly, but below, it was healed, and so when I worked on it in the tub with my foot scraper (dunno what the heck they’re called, but you use them in the tub to sand down your calluses on your feet), the callous came off and the skin below was pink and healthy. My feet have never looked this good in the winter. And you have NO idea how many oils and creams I’ve tried for my feet. I remember one Christmas receiving a bag of foot products from someone. Special creams and tools and jiggermabobbers just for my feet. But nothing has come close to doing what this little Sugarfoot has done.

And for you people with cracked skin on your hands, putting this on your feet can heal your cracked hands too (unless you don't use your hands to apply it). And if you're a nurse, you know how bad your hands get in the winter (surgical nurses wash their hands some 50 - 75 times a day!) and Ron's received a ton of testimonials from them telling him how well Sugarfoot worked on the cracks in their hands.

Ron also sent me a ton of testimonials, many of them from physicians who were shocked that his premier product, Healon PF, was saving the toes of diabetics. I read through them and everyone stated how amazed they were and how thankful they were for his products. You might not know this, but diabetics have very poor circulation in their extremities, and because of this, they bruise easily, get frequent sores that refuse to heal, and often times lose their toes.

Well, according to the reports from users, his Healon PF has shown itself to be effective in as little as three days. In just three days, people see improvement. In three weeks, some have reported to be completely healed. Sores that never healed in the past are healing.

And here is where Ron and I have something special for a few of our readers.
Offer Ended December 04

I have six bottles of Healon PF right here. Ron just mixed up a batch and sent them to me. If you are a diabetic with foot or hand problems, sores that won’t heal, or toes going numb, send me your address and I will get you a bottle of Healon PF as soon as I can. The only thing I ask of you is that you keep us informed as to how it is working for you, so that we can pass this on to our readers, and Ron would like you to take before and after pictures to document how it works.

Another thing I learned from Ron is that the FDA requires manufacturers of skin care products (and the like) to keep bottles of their products shelved for many years so that over the years they can open them, test them, and see how they’ve fared sitting on the shelf. I love learning these little known facts. Well, Ron just told me that they had reached the seven year mark, and Ron had a couple of his samples opened, and, sure enough, they were still just as pure as when they were bottled.

Ron uses only organically grown or wild crafted herbs. He adds nothing unnatural, no emulsifiers, so you have to shake them before using them. Like the Amazon Herb people we reviewed in the past, Ron’s company helps harvest the Rain Forests rather than destroy them. His tests have shown that bacteria will not grow in his formulas; it’s just impossible. On a cut or a bruise, this stuff is just as good, better in my opinion, than your antibiotic creams.

Ron loves helping people. He’s probably sent out more free samples than he’s sold so far. He just feels good getting word back that he’s helped someone. His products could easily be sold for twice the price listed now. After using his Sugarfoot, I know I’ve spent a lot more on so many products that didn’t come close. I was really amazed and so are people who know me. My feet are gross in the winter time! But not this winter.

Ron also has a few products that he didn’t send for us to test, but I read about them in the testimonials. One is called A.S.C. Ron makes no claims, but people have written back that it works wonderfully on Squamus Cell carcinoma and Actinic Keratoses.

Another product is Pain Out, which is used on muscle injuries. People heavily into sports have written to him that within an hour of applying the ointment, the pain was gone.

Update: Ron's creams are not being sold at Simply the Best.

Every day Ron gets calls and letters from people who have tried his products. One fellow told him that he'd nearly cut his finger off, put some of his Healon PF on it, wrapped it up, and a year later, you can't tell which finger was cut. There is no scar.

Before we leave Ron, we should give you a list of maladies that Healon PF has been healing according to the testimonials we've received. First off, here are two before and after shots sent from people using the original Healon formula (not the PF). The first shows how it works on scrapes, and the second shows how it reduces scarring (after surgery).

Testimonials show people using Healon and Healon PF successfully on: bed sores, cuts, scrapes, bruises, sores that do not heal, scars, toenail fungus, athlete's foot, plantar warts, ingrown toenails, deep seated splinters, road rash, burns, boils, some moles, skin tags, hangnails, split fingertips, blisters, poison ivy, oak, and sumac, canker sores, sore gums, and mosquito bites.

Update (Oct 2005)

We've received two testimonials that we really must republish here.

This first is from a physician:

I hope you have been impressed with the pictures of Richard M that I sent. Richard is a yard worker who had modified a weed eater tool; when he started it, it literally "blew up" in his face. This occurred on May 30, 2005. He cam to my office on June 1, 2005 (see picture #1 [note: we've put both pictures, the before and after, together]) and sought treatment for the burns to his face. He refused referral to a plastic surgeon for treatment and stated that he would only allow me to treat him. I was grateful for his confidence but, at the same time, I was fully aware of the seriousness of his injury. An injury to the nose, with its underlying cartiliginous structures, can, sometimes, provide a poor prognosis; cartilage does not heal well and, in fact, he was facing the possibility of a loss of a body part.

I chose to treat him with the product (Healon PF) by having him apply it twice daily and return to my office in two weeks for follow-up. I informed him that he could return at any time if necessary. He returned to my office three weeks later (the "after" photos) and I was absolutely astounded! He has had no adverse effects from the product and, as you can see, in his eyes, he is quite happy. I spoke with him today and he is overjoyed that the product was available to him. I feel blessed to have the product for my patients. I will continue to use the product and will send other photos of "before and after."

I look forward to working with you in the future and I will make every attempt to convince my peers to give the product a trial in their practices.

Sincerely,
Anthony L Hall, MD
Hall Wellness Institute, Inc

The second is just before and after pictures of diabetic sores. They are gross, but as you can see, in just one month, toes that were ready to be surgically removed, have improved immensely and are staying put on the end of they foot they came with: Before & After.

A web site/company has been created that sells many of the products we review here. They hire only disabled and offer you, our  reader, a discount. Simply go here: Simply the Best, and bookmark the spot. Ron Salley's products are available there (Healon PF, Sugar Foot, and Wrinkle Cream).  Please check them out, and if you're looking for the best foot cream I've ever found, just click here: Sugar Foot.

Hey, Supersize This!

One Thanksgiving, after the usual huge meal, Morgan Spurlock unbuckled his belt, slipped onto a couch, and feeling "bloated and happy" turned on the television.

At some point, he learned that two women were suing McDonalds for making their kids fat. Food industry representatives countered, claiming that the food was nutritious and that you can’t link getting fat to their food.

Spurlock thought to himself, "How nutritious is it really? Let’s find out."

With that, Morgan Spurlock set off on a Michael Mooresque journey of discovery, handy cam and all.

His goal was to eat only things on the McDonald’s menu for one month straight. Three meals a day, for thirty days. Those were the rules. Oh, I almost forgot: another rule was, if the counterperson asked him if he wanted to supersize his meal, he had to say yes.

Spurlock traveled about the country interviewing people under the golden arches and on the street; he interviewed both health experts and food industry lobbyists. The only people he couldn’t get to speak on camera were the representatives of McDonalds.

A spokesperson for McDonalds told the New Your Post that no one from corporate headquarters had seen the movie yet, but added, "Consumers can achieve balance in their daily dining decisions by choosing from our array of quality offerings and a range of portion sizes to meet their tastes and nutrition goals." (Ever wonder how much it costs to develop a statement like that?)

The documentary, first appearing at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, follows Spurlock on his journey, and into his doctor’s office where he is regularly examined throughout the course of the film, by a gastroenterologist, a cardiologist, and a general practitioner who states, "He was an extremely healthy person who got very sick eating this McDonald's diet. None of us imagined he could deteriorate this badly - he looked terrible. The liver test was the most shocking thing - it became very, very abnormal."

Spurlock supersized himself from 185 to 210 pounds during the course of the movie. He began throwing up out his car window, his liver went toxic, his cholesterol shot up 65 points, "his libido flagged and he suffered headaches and depression," the New York Post tells us.

"I got desperately ill," he says. "My face was splotchy and I had this huge gut, which I've never had in my life. My knees started to hurt from the extra weight coming on so quickly. It was amazing - and really frightening."

Spurlock's girlfriend, Alex Jamieson, was horrified - she's a vegan chef.

"She was completely disgusted by me, not happy at all," he says. "But she realized what my goals were in trying to educate people." [http://campaignfortruth.com/Eclub/230204/CTM%20-%20big%20mac.htm]
