Great Year
We've gotten a lot of support.

Every year we try to update our readers on how well, or badly, we're doing here, with our finances. Well, last year we brought in over $10,000.00. Our biggest supporter was Wilderness Family Naturals. These people supply us and our readers with all our coconut products. Next, you, the reader were our best supporters. We can't thank you enough. And in third place, because of a large order Ron Salley got from South Korea, Ron donated half the sale to us. His creams and healing lotions are still the best thing we've ever found, and for the pharmacist in Korea, they are the same. We're publishing a letter he wrote to Ron after he'd tried his products.

Now for the not so good news. We spent a little over $12,000.00.  I swore we'd NOT go into debt again, but that's how it worked out. With Ron Salley's donation we were able to purchase the software we need to help people find physicians, naturopaths, homeopaths, nutritionists, etc. to help them. We also need this software to produce our directories. The software costs over $1,000.00. Additionally, we had a terrible computer crash last year. First our backup drive went out, and less than two days later the main drive went out. So, we fixed that (yup, cost a bunch), got another computer for video and photography, and now we're back up and running.

To bring in more money to pay the bills for this organization, I'll be doing some wedding photography this summer as well as senior photos for high school seniors. Hopefully that will bring us back into the black by the end of the year.

One more thing. It seems that a few readers (three) are not happy with my political choices or posting my views at this site. Well, that's too bad. I'm 80K in debt doing this, I'm a disable Vietnam Veteran, and health care and the care of our planet is VERY political. If you don't agree with me, then thank me for fighting to protect your right to disagree. We've kept this organization a non profit and NOT a charity just so we CAN be political.

Reviews: Photo Programs, Presentation Software, Video Editing, DVD Creation.

Top

As promised, I’ve completed two reviews of two very important programs, along with an introduction to the reviews that explains the whys and hows.

Just to refresh your memory, because of my interest in photography, I’ve received hundreds of letters asking me about the programs I use. Additionally, because of my interests in software and photography, I’ve become a bit of a movie nut and I’ve started collecting software for a variety of purposes from video editing to DVD creation.

The page of the reviews is here: Software Reviews. We thank the Vertical Moon for sending us a free copy of Text-Osterone, the software used to create the wonderful text animations at the top of the Reviews page.

The introduction is here: Introduction to Digital Software Reviews.

The two reviews that are completed are ACDsee, photo Manager software, and TMPGEnc MPEG Editor, the simplest MPEG editor I’ve ever found, and very inexpensive.

More will be added over the next few months.

Oh, and one more thing, my photo Golden Girl has taken top awards at the 2008 Veteran’s Art Show and is onto the nationals now.

Steroids: in Baseball Bad, in Milk Good!

Most Utah consumers want to know what's in their food and how it is produced. Some prefer vegetables and fruit that are grown without pesticides, and milk and meat that are produced with no growth hormones.

Enter Republican representative Kerry Gibson from Utah, who is actively fighting against producers being able to identify whether the milk you drink is from steroid-free cows.

An op-ed piece from Utah sums it up well:

That's not to say non-organic food is unsafe or inferior. The two are simply produced differently, and consumers have a fundamental right to make a choice. To do that, they have to have the information contained on food labels. But a Utah House member who is also a non-organic dairy farmer wants to restrict labeling for organic foods, keeping important information out of the hands of consumers.

Rep. Kerry Gibson, R-Ogden, says that labeling milk as having been produced without the use of the bovine growth hormone rBST is "misleading" and implies that non-organic products are not as safe as those labeled organic.

That's bunk. And self-serving bunk at that.

Gibson and others, including Monsanto, the company that produces rBST and makes a lot of money selling it to farmers, are proposing a Utah Agriculture Department rule change. The new rule would prohibit milk being labeled "rBST-free" or any food labels or ads that make any claim, true or otherwise, that can't be proven by an "analytical test."

That's bunk, too.

The label "Made in Utah" would be prohibited, since such a claim cannot be verified by an analytical test. A sentence on a soup can reading "just the right herbs and spices in a flavorful broth" would have to be verified by an analytical test.

The rule would allow milk to be labeled "rBST-free" as long as the label also stated that "no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from cows treated with artificial growth hormones and cows not treated with artificial hormones."

That would require organic-dairy owners to make a judgment for consumers about a chemical product that they have chosen not to use and about which the jury is still out. It would make more sense to require milk containing the growth hormone to be labeled as such.

The Utah Agriculture Department should consider the source of this rule-change proposal and act in the best interest of Utah consumers by rejecting it.

As we get ready to publish this newsletter, Monsanto, that great company that has invented all sorts of new ways to get cancer, is putting pressure on Missouri to quit labeling milk from farms using BGH.

Buyer beware. If this passes, you won’t know which milk is which. You won’t be able to make an informed decision. If you live in Missouri, you might want to contact your state senator:

Tell your Missouri Senator to stop this foolishness and vote NO on SB 1279.

Editor's Note: Many farmers choose not to inject steroids into their cows, and some because of the bad experiences when they did use steroids.

Noted side effects include (this is not a complete list):

  • weight loss

  • infertility

  • increased susceptibility to disease

  • cystic ovaries

  • uterine disorders

  • decreased gestation length

  • lower birth weight in calves

  • increased twinning rates

  • retained placenta

  • mastitis (inflammation of the udder)

The line "no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from cows treated with artificial growth hormones and cows not treated with artificial hormones" is a patent lie. For one thing, if the cow has mastitis, there will be puss in the milk. I'm pretty sure that most consumers don't want to drink cow puss.

Additionally, rBGH in cows stimulates production of another hormone called Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), which in turn increases the levels of IGF-1 in the cow's milk. In humans, IGF-1 causes cells to divide, leading some scientists to believe that this could lead to "uncontrolled cell division and growth in humans" (cancer). [Rachel's Environment and Health Weekly, No.454, August]

Are we going to let corporations determine what we put in our bodies? Are we going to let the FDA protect corporations and not the consumer?

FDA Warns Tamiflu Shots Can be Fatal
Ask your doctor if death is right for you.

If you should visit the FDA’s web site, you might be surprised to discover that the most commonly administered flu vaccination, known as Tamiflu, can kill you.

The drug, owned in part by Donald Rumsfeld (one of the architects of our highly successful invasion of Iraq) can cause hallucinations and delirium (or abnormal behavior), and, oh yes, death.

All of these discoveries have come from physicians administering the drug. How widespread this problem is has yet to be discerned. But Tamiflu’s manufacturer, Roche, has written a letter to practitioners in the US about these “new” reactions, and everyone has been told to change the warnings on the information sheet patients get when receiving the vaccination.

Tamiflu has been sent to the orient to protect against the Avian flu. Is it successful? Is it dangerous? We’ll have to wait for the results to come floating across the oceans with the boat people, I guess.

In the meanwhile, we can all rest assured that this past year, the flu shot was a waste of time, as it did not match the circulating viruses. So, what is the stand Public Health officials are taking: Next year more people should get a flu shot.

I don’t understand the logic here, unless what they’re saying is that if more people get the flu shot the odds of someone actually being protected from the flu will increase, but then the damage done by the flu shot will be even more disastrous. Let’s take a quick look at the damage done in 2007 by the flu shot:

  • 203 deaths
  • 797 life-threatening events
  • 260 permanent disabilities
  • 2,980 hospitalizations
  • 405 prolonged hospitalizations [HSI e-Alert - Trying to Reason With Flu Season 3/13/2008]

Hey, that’s some record!

Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus

Top

MRSA has been around longer than we think. It was first discovered in the early sixties, just about two years after methicillin was introduced.

Staphylococcus is a bacterium. Antibiotics kill bacteria. However, MRSA was one among the first bugs shown to be antibiotic resistant. Interestingly enough, the first antibiotic resistant bug was discovered within two years of the introduction of antibiotics.

Today, strains of MRSA are resistant to more than just methicillin, and part of the treatment involves labs testing your infection for antibiotics to which your infection has not yet built resistance.

Like most staph infections, we pick up MRSA in schools, gyms, health care facilities (hospitals, clinics, care homes), institutional settings, and any place with concentrated human populations. You can catch it directly from a person carrying it or from something an infected person touched.

MRSA appears with similar symptoms to boils, abscesses, cellulitis, sties, impetigo, and carbuncles.

Let’s go over these, one by one.

  • A boil is a pus-filled infection in the skin, usually at the location of a hair follicle. It begins as a small red, itchy lump and grows to a pus-filled head.

  • An abscess is a collection of pus under the skin.

  • Cellulitis is an infection of the fatty tissues just below the outer layer of skin (skin has six layers). It usually begins with small red bumps appearing on the epidermis (outer layer of skin).

  • A sty is an infection in the eyelid (where tiny glands are found).

  • A carbuncle is like an abscess but usually much larger with several openings to the skin.

  • Impetigo is a skin infection with pus-filled blisters on top.

Now that we’ve got past that, let me tell you about my infection.

I play tennis. In the winter, we have to play indoors. So, I guess that’s where I got it.

One day I felt an itch while watching a movie, and I lightly scratched my arm and discovered a lump under the skin. I knew that wasn’t right.

The next morning, I noticed little blisters beginning on top. And it itched.

I called my doctor at the VA and when I told her the symptoms, she said: “You get in here immediately!”

Well, I live in Minnesota. When I have to get up at 5:00 to play tennis, I plug my car in the night previous. People down south don’t understand this concept. But up here, if you don’t have a heated garage, you’d better have a block heater.

It was sixteen below zero and I had not plugged in my car. So, a trip to the hospital was off.

However, I never go anywhere without a bottle of HealonPF, so I applied that three times that day, washing the spot each time with Miracle II soap and Listerine®.  By the next morning, the infection had shrunk about 40%. I called my doc (the car was ready to go) and told her, and she said, “It’s probably not MRSA, so just continue what you are doing.”

My doctor doesn’t believe in alternatives. She doesn’t like me treating myself and always wants to put me on drugs. She refuses to believe that an herbal remedy could possibly be antibiotic. However, from testimonials, we’ve seen that HealonPF is both antibiotic and antiviral.

My infection is gone now. Took less than a week. I used the HealonPF twice a day, and watched it slowly go away. I’m always impressed with this stuff. However, at tennis, I no longer shake hands after a match. I wave.

Additionally, if you work out at a health club, be sure to shower before you leave. Using an antibiotic soap is recommended, but I prefer Miracle II and I take a little bottle of it when away from home.

So, do yourself a favor, and do ME a favor and get some HealonPF. One for your first aid kit, one in the car, one in the boat, and one or two at home. You can’t use it if you don’t have it.

And yes, this is very selfish on my part. I want the maker of HealonPF to make a lot of money and stay in business. I don’t know what I would do if I could not get my HealonPF and Sugar Foot. I love these products and don’t want to see them go away.

U.S. HOSPITALS PLAGUED BY TEN TIMES MORE MRSA SUPERBUG INFECTIONS THAN PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT

Nearly five percent of patients in U.S. hospitals may have acquired a particular antibiotic resistant staph infection. The majority of the infections originated within the medical facility; 67 percent arose in patients being treated for general medical conditions (such as diabetes or pulmonary or cardiovascular problems) and not in intensive care patients.  http://healthy.net/scr/news.asp?Id=9611

When Advertizing Kills
Ask your doctor if you blowing up your *#!*%$! TV is right for you!

Advertising has been called “legalized lying” by both H.G. Wells and Mark Twain.

Vilhjalmur Stefansson asks, “What is the difference between unethical and ethical advertising? Unethical advertising uses falsehoods to deceive the public; ethical advertising uses truth to deceive the public.”

Legalized lying has had a colorful history in America, and the most colorful of all products ever advertized are drugs, nostrums, and patent medicines, or as we lovingly know them today: Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to the 20th Century, before radio and television advertising, patent medicines were advertised in newspapers, magazines, in catalogs (such as Sears), on billboards, on posters in stores, on shelves of stores, in hand outs, and hawked on the streets (as seen in many popular westerns).

These medicines promised fabulous cures for every ailment: scrofula, kidney disease, balding and falling hair, dyspepsia, worms, catarrh, and nerve disorders. These were times in which there was little access to physicians or good health information, and prescription medicines were much more expensive than any of these that were sold over the counter or off the wagon.

“The only reason I made a commercial for American Express was to pay for my American Express bill.” Peter Ustinov

Most contained a lot of alcohol, and many were mixed with opiates, the wonder drug of the 19th century. Laudanum was a favorite of the time. An article out of the 1972 Penthouse called “Grandma Was a Junkie” describes the machinations of the author’s grandmother around the turn of the century in her quest to satisfy her addiction to laudanum. Local pharmacies knew she was addicted and refused to supply her with it, so she was forced to go to different sections of the town to get her fix.

Many of these favorites of yesteryear are illegal today or prescribed minimally:

  • Chloral hydrate — a sedative and hypnotic drug, often slipped into an alcoholic drink to make a “Mickey Finn”
  • Paregoric — a camphorated tincture of opium
  • Heroin — another opiate marketed from 1898 to 1910 as a “non additive” cough medicine for children. Bayer marketed heroin as a cure for morphine addiction.
  • Codeine — first isolated in 1830, an opiate that was marketed in cold syrups right up till recently, and are still mixed with acetaminophen as a pain killer, even though studies show that codeine is practically worthless.
  • Morphine — first isolated in 1804 in Germany, its popularity never caught on till the invention of the hypodermic needle in 1853. It was used as a cure for opium and alcohol addiction until we figured out that it was much more addictive than both of them. Morphine is carried by soldiers on maneuvers in an “autoinjector.”
  • Laudanum — an alcoholic tincture of opium that is still available by prescription for extreme diarrhea that hasn’t responded to therapy. Famous fans of Laudanum are John Keats, Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Todd Lincoln, Meriwether Lewis, and George Washington.

Many medicines contained dangerous chemicals. We've written about the Rockefellers discovering oil; how they quickly bottled it and marketed it as a cancer cure.

It wasn’t until a series of articles published in Collier’s Weekly called “The Great American Fraud” that the American public got a wakeup call to what they’d been putting in their bodies. Congress was pressed into action and, viola, out popped the Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906.

“It is a most extraordinary thing, but I never read a patent medicine advertisement without being impelled to the conclusion that I am suffering from the particular disease therein dealt with in its most virulent form.”  Jerome K Jerome

Today the FTC, Federal Trade Commission handles advertising while the FDA handles specifically food, supplement, herbal, and drug advertizing. The FTC will oftentimes get into the picture too for these listed products.

There has been legislation in recent years, calling for side effects to be listed for print, radio, and television advertising, but still consumer groups fight on because these billion dollar drug companies still get away with… well… murder.

We’ve updated our article on Chronic Therapy adding Anthocyanins LINK which are water-soluble flavonoids found in fruits and vegetables that inhibit the inflammatory COX 1 and 2 enzymes. Cherries (and chokecherries) are among the most potent fruits in this category.

Even though there are literally hundreds of studies that show cherries (especially the tart ones) to help fight the inflammation of arthritis, the FDA has come down hard on the cherry industry not allowing them to advertize this feature.

On the OTHER hand, Honey/Nut Cheerios and other breakfast cereals with way too much sugar (the Honey/Nut Cheerios contains three types of sugar) and way too many carbs get to advertise heavily how heart healthy they are. Because studies show that eating oat fiber can lower cholesterol levels, General Mills has launched huge promotional campaigns that make ridiculously outrageous health claims.

Legal Lie: You need a car that is fun to drive, and that car is shown on the open road, all alone, buzzing along, taking curves, speeding up on the straightaways.

The Reality: You commute to work in traffic, you commute home in traffic, and whenever you get out on the open road, there’s a truck in front of you that is impossible to pass on that beautiful, scenic, curvy road.

Since when do oats, processed till there is hardly anything left resembling an oats, coated in sugar, with artificial flavors and artificial colors get to advertise that they’ll lower your cholesterol better than aged garlic.

And if aged garlic (or organic whole foods) attempted to advertise health benefits, FDA storm troopers would be called out while their expensive attorneys piled up lists of charges.

This Just In:

Why the FDA doesn't want you to know about this painkiller

Did you know that eating 20 cherries has the same anti-inflammatory effect as popping aspirin or a cox-2 inhibiting drug? If not, you can blame the FDA.

Several years ago, U.S. Department of Agriculture studies proved that cherries have powerful anti-inflammatory properties. When the cherry growers used the studies to promote their fruit, the FDA went on a witch hunt and told them to stop. The FDA ruled that the cherry growers could not use the evidence to make these claims.

Why? Because the FDA requires food manufacturers and growers to satisfy the agency's unobtainable standard of proof before promoting health claims of their products. However, the cost is so prohibitive to do so that most companies and organizations simply can't meet the standard.

But guess who can? The drug companies. The current FDA rules give the drug companies an unfair advantage in the marketplace. As a result, the cherry growers can't tell you about the anti-inflammatory properties of their cherries. But the drug makers can make claims about their drugs all day long - even though they both have the same abilities. And guess which one has killed over 20,000 people? It isn't the cherries, but the FDA isn't concerned about that.

This unhindered access to the FDA has given the drug companies tremendous power. So much, in fact, that no one is willing to stand up to them - until now.

Congressman, medical doctor, and presidential candidate Ron Paul recently said, "enough is enough" and is standing up to the Big Pharma bullies who run the FDA. Dr. Paul has introduced H.R. 2117 (the Health Freedom Protection Act) into the House. It will effectively stop the FDA from censoring truthful claims about the health benefits of dietary supplements and other foods.

The goal of H.R. 2117 is to put an end to the federal bureaucrats' meddling with your right to choose healthy alternatives over harmful and deadly drugs. Dr. Paul believes the FDA should not prevent Americans from learning about simple ways to improve their health.

Dr. Paul's bill will put the burden of proof where it belongs, on the FDA/FTC when it comes to determining if an ad is false or misleading. This makes sense, as you're always innocent until proven guilty in this country. But the FDA considers you guilty until you can bribe your way into innocence.

Big Pharma has the FDA firmly in pocket. Censoring vital information, as it did with the cherry growers, is their only way to stay in business! Perhaps bill H.R. 2117 can get enough traction to stick if enough of us stand firmly behind it. I urge you to contact your elected officials to get HR 2117 moving. It is currently stuck in committee and it needs your help. The easiest way to do that is to visit the website
www.house.gov/writerep/. Once you're at the site, simply follow the instructions on the screen and you can send your representatives a note on this very important bill. Please do so today! Your health depends on it.

Conclusion? The FDA allows blatant false advertising for huge corporations but disallows this same advertising for small companies making healthy food and supplements.

Will Congress step in and investigate? Of course!

False and misleading advertising irks our congress. Just recently, Congress formed a committee to investigate misleading advertising in the drug industry. Horray for the little guy!

Well, not really. Congress wanted to know if Dr Robert Jarvik (a medical doctor who is not licensed to practice medicine and does not specialize in cardiology, but did invent an artificial heart) actually knows how to row a boat.

Apparently the ad agency hired a stunt double for the sculling scenes. Dr Jarvik is not an outdoorsman. Boy did he piss off Congress.

Sadly, congress forgot to investigate if Lipitor actually saves lives (no, it does not significantly lowered heart attack rates) or if it does more damage to the human body (every cell in your body needs cholesterol) by stopping the body’s production of CoQ10 (which the heart DOES need). The list of side effects is remarkable.

Legal Lie: …part of a healthy breakfast.

The Reality: You’ve just consumed more sugar, chemicals, and empty calories than if you’d had a candy bar.

Congress did NOT investigate if cholesterol actually causes heart disease.

Congress did not discover that your overall cholesterol numbers have no connection to your chances of heart attack or stroke, but that recent studies have shown conclusively that your chances of having a heart attack or stroke decrease as the ratio of HDL to LDL goes up. The more HDL (good cholesterol), the better your chances of a heart disease free life.

Congress did not investigate that statin drugs can cause heart failure, memory problems, and cancers.

Congress did not investigate that cholesterol lowering drugs lower both good and bad cholesterol.

Congress did not investigate that there is no such thing as bad cholesterol. Congress did not discover that the so called bad cholesterol’s job is to patch arteries that have injuries from cardiovascular disease. Nor did they discover that good cholesterol should be called Preventive Cholesterol while so-called bad cholesterol should be called Reparative Cholesterol (it’s job is to repair a problem caused by heart disease; it does not cause heart disease).

Congress investigated Dr Robert Jarvik’s ability to row a boat.

The stunt double wrote an article that was subtitled: “My Brief Career as a Drug Pusher.” Jarvik contracted to fake, or make, these commercials for over a million dollars.

With the pharm industry under close scrutiny to never again use a stunt double when advertising questionable drugs, Merck/Shering pulled their latest television advertising on Zetia and Vytorin. Some advertising industry sources were shocked because on careful examination of their ads, they found that no stunt doubles were used.

Apparently, Zetia and Vytorin ads were dropped BECASE THEY WILL KILL YOU.

Oh?

The print ads continued a bit longer, but are now pulled. Zetia will lower your cholesterol, but does nothing to stop it from gathering on your arteries. In fact, it seemed to increase the amount of cholesterol found on your arteries, thus, it can be concluded that Zetia caused heart disease.

Zetia, however, did not kill as many people as Vioxx. Vioxx is now not allowed to advertise, but doctors can still prescribe it.

Legal Lie: Aspirin will protect you from a heart attack.

The Reality: Magnesium, garlic, vitamin C, and fish oils will protect you from a heart attack. Aspirin will increase your chances of hemorrhagic stroke some 40%.

Vioxx is no longer advertised for the same reason that no prescription drug should be advertised: patients will ask for it and it will be over prescribed.

Vioxx had been created to treat inflammation in people at risk for gastro-intestinal issues while using things like aspirin. You would think that it would have been prescribed to only patients with a high risk of GI problems. However, it is estimated that nearly 90% of of Vioxx users did not need the drug. Just over 10% of those patients prescribed Vioxx needed the drug. Why were so many people over prescribed this drug?

Vioxx was heavily advertised. Heavy advertising means hefty sales. Patients go to their doctors and ask for Vioxx. Doctors prescribe Vioxx because of perks from drug companies for prescribing their drugs. Suddenly we have nearly half a million people on Vioxx, only 10 - 12% actually need it and a few years later we find that 139,000 people have been injured by Vioxx. http://www.msnbc.msn.com:80/id/6782229/ and over 60,000 dead from heart attacks.

To end this discussion, I’d like to quote one of my favorite PBS programs that is no longer on the air, NOW:

It is hardly a secret that direct-to-consumer drug advertising is big business. In December 2004 the New York Times reported that a recent study by advertising revenue tracker TNS Media Intelligence/CMR found that prescription medicine ads aired during ABC, CBS and NBC's nightly news accounted for nearly 29 percent, or $110 million, of all ad revenue from January through September of 2004. Vioxx's makers had spent $78 million on direct-to-consumer ads last year and other products have tallies just as high.

Call your representatives, ask them how much money s/he received from the Pharmaceutical Industry, and then ask him/her if that amount of money would affect whether s/he votes to outlaw prescription drug advertising. Over and over and over it has been demonstrated that television advertising of prescription drugs leads to overprescribing these drugs. Here are a few free numbers to the DC offices (that we’ve checked out): 800-828-0498, 800-614-2803 and 877-851-6437. Just ask for your representative’s office.

Recently there’s been a lot in the news about drugs in our drinking water supply. There’s a big flap in Washington. Readers write to me telling me to focus on this issue. The sky is falling.

Well, some readers might remember that we wrote about this about two years ago. I recall stating something like: We have so many antidepressants in our ten thousand Minnesota lakes that the fish just don’t care if they’re caught.

You can read about it here: Drugs in our Drinking Water.

I will say just one or two more things about these drugs.

  1. With few exceptions, no one should be permanently on any drug therapy. If you are on a drug for the rest of your life, ask yourself why. Drugs are a stop gap. They’re intended to save your life and stabilize a condition. If you can’t find a nutritional cure, you’re not looking. Only modern quackery supported by conventional “wrong” thinking could keep people drugged up without seeking nutritional therapies.

  2. The difference between herbals and pharmaceuticals is that herbs are food. Food does not pass through our systems unchanged. We digest them, pull from them the things we need and pass the remainder. Drugs are morbid substances that, for the most part, do not break down in our bodies. What we take in, we pass into our water supply.

  3. Dispose of drugs properly. Pretend they are hazardous substances and dispose of them accordingly.

Island Sunburn Lotion—Another Miracle from Miracle Skin

.Top

When Ron Salley makes something new, you’ll hear about it here first. I get lots of letters thanking us for promoting his products, and a few letters from skeptics who think we must be lying. Ron Salley is an amazing herbalist. His Miracle Skin products, the ones that make it to market (yes, he’s had some failures; lets face it, if you expect to succeed big, expect a few big failures along the way) are simply the best we’ve ever used. If you don’t believe us, there’s a money back guarantee on everything he sells.

Here is one letter from a recent customer:

Thank you so much for this wonderful product [HealonPF]!  I have had problem skin my whole life.  When I was a teenager, I went through 2 cycles of accutane (wonder if that's why I got cancer....).  I was blessedly pimple free for a long time.  When I started chemotherapy I started breaking out again.  As if losing my hair wasn't bad enough!    I went to the dermatologist- nothing worked.  A friend told me about the Wellness Directory of Minnesota.  I received a free sample and was instantly hooked.  Not only does it clear up my face, but it keeps me from any more breakouts!  Anyone with huge cystic acne knows how embarrassing it is, but thanks to you people I'm not ashamed to show my face.  Thank you again.

Ron’s new customer in South Korea, a pharmacist, has sent us a letter. Please excuse his English, but we didn’t want to edit it in any way.

The satisfaction of people is increasing greatly.

Personally I think the Healon that you made is a gift from heaven.

The girl whose lower half of body was paralyzed fully recovered in one month and 26 days. I heard that not only did her wound heal up but it became stronger.
And the woman whose leg part beneath the knee was corroding has not recovered completely but the wound has healed about 2/3. She is now using it for three months, and she has great faith in Healon. But inconveniently I don't think she's following the way you proposed. It was also used in a cancer patient's skin ulcer, and the patient was sentenced a time-limited life of 3 months.  The family is using it so the patient can pass away cleanly but I haven't received any contact about the results yet. Amazing effects are appearing in the case of diabetic bedsore. The patient is a 59 year old female who used to be hospitalized one year due to diabetic bedsore, but she fully recovered just by Healon PF.

And this time a veterinary hospital bought three of these.  This veterinarian is a specialist who cuts dogs' ears. He said he'd like to try it as there were many cases which the cut part did not heal up for over a month. I think I will receive contact from him soon.

And for the goods you sent this time, I'm planning to provide them as samples to burn special hospital and plastic surgery.

I thank you greatly for all the help and advice you gave me. Though my start is small now I believe I will be able to obtain great results. I would be thankful if you would watch with patience though it may take some time. I am prepared for a new start in 2008 and I will show you better performance than 2007.

I always wish you a healthy life and happiness.

So now, Ron has created a Sunburn Lotion, and flight stewards who head for sunny climes, swear they will not go without it.

I haven’t been in the sun yet this year, mainly because I live in the frozen tundra of the Minnesota. However, I did find two people who burned themselves under a sun lamp, and here are their letters.

David, I couldn’t believe how fast that cream worked. I swear, the moment you put it on by back the pain was gone. When I got home I stripped down and put it on my backside and legs. The pain was just gone. I had to make one more application the next day, and that was it. Oh, and like you said, I didn’t peal. And that foot cream? [Sugar Foot]. I put that over the cracks in my toes and they were gone the next day. I’m going to order more!

And this one:

Boy was that fast. My husband put it on my back while I was in bed and the pain was gone before I turned over. The next day he put some more on me just one more time and that was it. I couldn’t believe it. It’s been six days now, and I’ve not pealed. I’ve never seen anything like this. I thank you so much for giving me that bottle. Now, where can I get more?

So, with summer coming up, click here to get your Island Sunburn Lotion. If you have a family of four or more, get two. Get another to give your neighbor when they get burned during your barbecue. You can’t use it if you don’t have it. You’ll thank me.

One more thing. We are taking all our articles that focused on Ron Salley’s superb creams and lotions and compile them into one page. So, keep your eyes open, and take a look our list of Articles (or Table of Contents) page in the next month or so.

If you are on a massage table in the prone position, your face is usually cradled by some sort of cushioning. When I give a massage, I use body cushions. They’ve always been enough, that is, until a friend sent me a new invention: The Face Cradle Insert.

Such a wonderful, simple invention, it goes over any face cradle, is soft, comfortable, and washable. There are a few different types, one made of leather, and even a carrying bag that can be used in the laundry to keep your Face Cradle Insert from picking up lint.

So, if you are a massage therapist, or you have a massage therapist, tell everyone about this new enhancement at facecradleinsert.com.

“Pimpin’ Pappy” Sold False Cancer Cures

Our old friend is in the news again. As some of you know, we published an exclusive investigative report on this guy a month and a half before Fox News picked it up. Fox News took full credit for the story, but when the Feds indicted Vanmoor and his 3 partners, Vanmoor sued us for a million dollars. We had the lawsuit tossed out of court, and now we have the “rest of the story.”

Go to original: http://www.northcountrygazette.org/news/2008/01/21/false_cancer_cures

MIAMI—Arthur Vanmoor is facing 20 years or more in federal prison after being convicted of selling false cures for cancer, migraines, the flu and cramps over the Internet.

Vanmoor, 48,  was convicted of 19 counts, including charges of mail fraud and wire fraud, violations of the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (FDCA), and conspiracy to commit these offenses.

The evidence at trial revealed Vanmoor hired individuals to create and write content for websites with names such as “www.cancercure.org” and “www.migrainemiracle.com.” to promote his products, “Cancer Control” and “Migraine Miracle,” by falsely claiming that the products were FDA-approved drugs guaranteed to cure numerous forms of cancer and migraine headaches.

Vanmoor further arranged for the websites to contain fake articles from doctors with pictures of people dressed like doctors holding the products as well as phony patient testimonials recommending the products.

Previously, on Dec. 22, 2005, the U.S. Attorney’s Office obtained a temporary restraining order against Vanmoor and others prohibiting the continued promotion, advertisement, production, shipment, and/or sale of “Cancer Control,” “Migraine Miracle,” “Flu Fighter,” and any other non-FDA-approved drugs in interstate commerce. Evidence at trial showed that Vanmoor nevertheless continued to maintain his websites and calling lines after the entry of the temporary restraining order.

The conspiracy count carries a maximum statutory term of imprisonment of five  years and a maximum statutory fine of $250,000. The maximum statutory term of imprisonment and fine for each of the mail and wire fraud counts is 20 years and $250,000, respectively. The maximum statutory term of imprisonment and fine for each FDCA violation is three years and $250,000, respectively.

Vanmoor, also known as Big Pimpin’ Pappy, was previously convicted and jailed for 18 months for racketeering related to a prostitution ring in Florida.  He was deported in 2004 after serving his sentence.  According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, his South Florida enterprise had “accounted for up to 90 percent of the escort service listings in Broward County’s 2002 Yellow Pages”. http://www.onpointnews.com/docs/escort4.pdf   1-20-08

The Six Components of the 2008 Quackbuster Operation
Opinion by Consumer Advocate  Tim Bolen

Top

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Do not, for even a second, think that the US "Quackbuster" operation, a plot to stop anyone, and everyone, from changing the broken US health care system, is run, or even maintained, by delicensed MD Stephen Barrett out of his 2421 West Greenleaf Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania address, or his condo at 287 Stoneview, Pittsboro, North Carolina.  It would be foolish to assume that this bitter, nasty, old man, who stumbles through life, tripping from one professional failure to another, is running a cleverly set up plot.  He's just the "front man."  The one they want you to focus on.  He's ill.  He'll die soon, and someone else will take his place as the frontispiece.

So, who really is running it?  And why?  And, how is it being done?  Keep reading, and all will be revealed (click the link below).

EpiCor Update
Learn from my mistake.

I’ve been using Diamond V XPC now for three months. When I met someone with a bug (cold or flu) who said, “Stay away from me,” I’d grab them, and hug them, and if female, I’d plant a big kiss on her face.

I was invulnerable to anything and everything. I took two size “OO” capsules daily and nothing could touch me.

Then, because I tend to forget things, I decided to make the Diamond V XPC (the father of EpiCor) part of my morning routine.

In the morning, I take 10 drops of Magnascent (Edgar Cayce’s Iodine), and a supplement for my prostate (that has to be taken on an empty stomach). I decided to add the Diamond V XPC so that I wouldn’t forget to take it during the day.

Big mistake. I went to the VA Hospital for a check up (hospitals are the best place to visit if you want to catch something) and the next day, I began coughing. It lasted 3 weeks. My lungs were filled with so much crap, and it was frustrating because I was not able to clear them by coughing.

So, if you are using EpiCor or filling your own capsules with Diamond V XPC, TAKE WITH FOOD.

When I gave it to my chickens, I added it to their food. It’s a food additive.

So, learn from my mistake and always take with food.

Sometimes I just want to tell people if you’re stupid enough to believe the crap they feed you on TV, if you’re stupid enough to believe profit driven medicine’s claims, then you deserve what happens to you.

People without a clue who chauvinistically cling to our modern medical system tell me: longevity improves in this country every year.

They love to display their ignorance telling me that primitive man didn’t live longer than 30 or 40 years. We know from Dr Weston Price’s research that primitive humans probably lived longer and healthier lives than we do today. We know that primitive man didn’t have to suffer thru an hour of Fox News.

Well, to all those who feel that our hypersuperfluous profit driven medical sciences we’ve got some really bad news for you. Our longevity here in the US has just dropped.

Yup, for the first time in our modern history, we’re going backwards.

If you still want to believe in modern medicine, if you still want to believe that an aspirin is better for your heart than nutrition, and if you still what to take your aspirin, then fine, take your aspirin.

The rest of us will take a little extra vitamin c, our fish and flax oils, coconut oil, fresh fruit and berries, cherries, garlic, our mixed tocopherols and mixed tocotrienols, a bit of arganine, and of course, CoQ10.

We’ve published Dr Rath’s healing heart supplements in our cardiovascular section.

But now I want to tell you a little more about CoQ10.

Statin drugs stop the production of CoQ10 in your liver. Every cell in your body needs CoQ10, and the cells in your heart need it even more. In fact, should you have a heart attack while on statin drugs, you have just ensured that the heart muscle will be damaged.

You see, it has been theorized that CoQ10 protects the heart muscles. Now, a recent study published in Biochemistry ["Chronic administration of coenzyme Q(10) limits postinfarct myocardial remodeling in rats," Kalenikova EI, Gorodetskaya EA, et al, Biochemistry, 2007; 72(3): 332-338] has shown that if you take CoQ10 on a regular basis and you have a heart attack, you can limit the damage done to the heart muscle. The study also showed that after a heart attack, the hearts of the rats taking CoQ10 did not increase in size from the damage.

There was a definite correlation between supplementing with CoQ10 and reduced damage after a heart attack.

So not only does CoQ10 strengthen the heart, but should an attack occur, it will protect the heart from further damage caused by the heart attack. CoQ10 does not protect against a heart attack. The supplements we mentioned above can. CoQ10’s job is to keep the muscle in proper working condition.

Absorption

Just because you’ve put something in your mouth doesn’t mean it gets into your bloodstream. CoQ10 is a fat soluble supplement. In a lozenge (chewable form) you’re going to get better absorption. The best form is liquid under the tongue, but a chewable form is can be just as good as the liquid form, if you add L-Carnitine.

My favorite form of L-Carnitine is Acetyl L-Carnitine. Why? Because it is the only supplement to protect our bodies against a specific carcinogen (cancer causing agent) that is found in starches that are cooked at high temperatures (deep fried anything (that has a coating on it), french-fries, potato chips, taco chips, etc.)

Additionally, for those of you who purchased Dr Mark Hyman’s

UltraMetabolism, you know that two important supplements in his plan are L-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid, an amazingly powerful antioxidant that increases production of glutathione (a powerful immune stimulant), which helps the liver dissolve toxins.

So, to strengthen your heart, strengthen your immune system, and boost your metabolism, find a chewable form of CoQ10, and add L-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid. We were not able to find all three of these together, but we did find Acetyl L-Carnitine and ALA in one form from a great company, Jarrow.

Note that this Jarrow combination adds L-Arginine. This triple combination supermetabolizes fats into energy by the mitochondria. The formula is patented.

Jarrow sent us germanium to test, and we’ll have our review of that in the next newsletter. But for now, here’s what we’ve found, for your heart, your metabolism, and for your overall health.

Phytopharmica's COQ10 Chewable Orange Flavor 100 mg 30 wafer and Jarrow's Acetyl L-Carnitine+Ala 100Caps. And don’t forget my personal favorite, NOW Foods. They are the best of the most inexpensive, bar none.

Phytopharmica's COQ10 Chewable Orange Flavor 100 mg 30 wafer
Chewable Orange Flavor 100 mg 30 wafer
$29.95
Jarrow's Acetyl L-Carnitine+Ala 100Caps
Acetyl-L-Carnitine Arginate (ALCA™) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)
$39.95
NOW Chewable CoQ10 200mg + Lecithin, 90 Lozenges
90 200mg Chewable Lozenges
$44.95
NOW Chewable CoQ10 200mg + Lecithin, 30 Lozenges
30 200mg Chewable Lozenges
$19.89

All of our medical advisors recommend 200mg to 400mg of CoQ10 for people with heart disease (its an expensive supplement) and 100mg if you are pretty healthy and want to stay that way.

And should you hear about a really absorbable efficient form of CoQ10, well, you’ve got it here with this combination.

The health of your back can be a sign of your overall health!
Does your back hurt?  You may need a lifestyle adjustment.
By Dr. Todd Sinett

Losing weight, changing dietary and exercise habits, and reducing stress may not seem like common prescriptions for treating those aches and pains that may ail your back -- but these things often go hand in hand with successful treatment for back pain.   This is why successful treatment for back pain means a patient often ends up with benefits way beyond simply a healthier back!

The connection between health and back pain

It’s always interesting to look at the statistics between other areas of health and back pain. Eighty five percent of Americans do not exercise regularly.  Eighty five percent of Americans also suffer from back pain.  The truth is, back pain is almost always multi-factorial, and not addressing all pieces of the puzzle means managing back pain rather than treating it!  There are three main causes of back pain.  They are structural: (muscles and bones), nutritional (diet and hormones), and emotional, (stress, anger, resentment, etc.)  This dynamic triad is in constant flux.  If one side gets thrown off balance, the other sides will be affected as well.

In treating back pain, I always make sure to address each of these areas because they almost always overlap.  For example, overweight people tend to have more back pain because of the pressure on their spine (a structural problem).  Even though changes in eating habits, such as reducing refined sugars and caffeine, can have their own positive effects on back pain, these healthy dietary changes can also lead to weight loss.  And that weight loss alleviates the structural problem of too much pressure, as well.   A similar situation is found in smokers.  Smoking cigarettes actually causes a structural problem within the back by dehydrating the spinal discs, resulting in serious pain.  However, many smokers also lead less healthful lifestyles, including drinking more caffeine and exercising less.

Additionally, high stress levels (emotional) can cause a rise in a hormone called cortisol, leading to inflammation in the body and increased back pain.  Combine this with a tendency to eat foods high in sugar caffeine while stressed and you’re just adding more fuel to the  fire.

The back door approach

The great thing about a multi-factorial approach is that you can usually work on one aspect of back pain by taking care of another part of the triad – and wind up solving multiple problems at once.  This approach of treating the root cause rather than just the symptom is referred to as the “back door approach”.  In other words, it’s not always what hurts that is what needs to be fixed!  If someone is suffering from back pain from emotional causes, you can use the back door approach and treat the emotional stress to relieve the back pain without ever touching the back.  For example, exercise and stretching is a proven stress reliever.  So even though exercise might not seem like the best cure for back pain, in this case it might just do the trick.  The results are then cyclic -- as you reduce stress, back pain becomes lessened, mood improves, you’re less likely to eat sugary foods or reach for caffeine, and so on.

On the same note, someone who has great difficulty changing their diet might fare better by first focusing on structure and stress reduction.  When this happens, their cravings for sugary foods are diminished because the body is in better balance.  Once again, an effect of the back door approach – by impacting one aspect of back pain you solved the other two.

Patients often ask me for my favorite strategies for managing back pain.  Here are the three things that I tell them:

1.       Keep stress levels under control.  This means effectively juggling work, family, and personal needs.  Over time I have learned that this is one of the areas that most people neglect most.  Finding the right ways to deal with stress (which can be different for everyone) is one of the healthiest things that you do for yourself.  And remember, if you don’t take care of yourself, it’s more difficult to take care of the people who depend on you.

2.      Maintain dietary balance and decrease overall portion size: Eat a variety of healthful foods, avoid most processed foods, and choose organic whenever possible.  I definitely still enjoy an occasional bowl of ice cream, dessert, or potato chips, but always aim for moderation.  You’ll find that filling your body with healthful foods leaves little room for the not so healthy stuff!   Overeating the wrong, or even the right, foods causes fluctuations in blood sugar and digestive irritation/overload.  Unstable blood sugar can cause irregular moods, which leads to stress and inflammation in the body.  Digestive irritation and inflammation causes stomach upset, muscles cramps, body aches, and back pain.

3.      Take care of your structure:  Get treated once a week by a chiropractor, stretch and exercise regularly, and see a massage therapist about once a month.

I’d like to leave you with this:  If you have back pain, embrace the pain and figure out what your body is telling you.  You may not like the message, but you can be sure that if you work on the emotional, chemical, and physical aspects of your health, it will be more than your back that feels better!

Saudi Paper: Prepare for radioactive fallout.

by Jim P

Go To Original.

According to Chris Floyd at Empire Burlesque,

... the Saudi government is now preparing plans to deal with "any sudden nuclear and radioactive hazards" that may arise from an attack on Iran's nuclear reactors. This was reported by a top Saudi newspaper, Okaz, and relayed by a leading German news service, dpa -- one day after Dick Cheney paid a visit to the kingdom. As we noted, no one knows exactly what was said at that confab of allied authoritarians -- but something sure lit a fire under the Saudis, and convinced them that urgent action is needed to brace for the lethal overspill from a strike on Iran.

Floyd points out that nothing in Saudi Arabia becomes the top news story without government approval. That such a story should be released the day after Cheney's visit, sends a message to everyone ab
