 The Spiritual Connection to Healing

Preface: I do not argue religion. I hate to even bring it up on this site because someone will get their feathers ruffled. Personally, I am not religious, though I believe thoroughly in a loving Creator and the interconnectedness of all things. There can be a wide gap between religion and spirituality.

I am somewhat of a Biblical scholar in that I have read the Old Testament in the original Hebrew (with both friends, teachers, and a wonderful rabbi in Israel) and I had the original text of the new testament (in Greek) read to me and translated by a Biblical scholar in Israel.

When I research medicine, I do not believe everything I read. I check it out. Similarly, I do not accept anything told me by any authority concerning religion. I will not accept anything second hand. My beliefs are my own; I've worked hard acquiring them.

I am not a Christian, though I feel that Jesus (Yeshua ha'Notzri) was one of the greatest masters to walk this planet. Below  is a discussion on what Jesus tried to teach us about healing. Please feel free to send me your comments: [email protected]

There once was a man who walked the earth healing the sick, the lame, the blind and on an occasion, he even raised the dead. He tried to tell us that we too could do such things, but after he left, no one took his place. No one believed that they could, like him, heal the sick.

The secret to healing is believing it can be done. Jesus did not heal anyone. Our Creator healed them through Jesus. And even when our Creator did this, the healing could not occur unless the person being healed believed that he or she was healed.

Throughout the New Testament, we hear the line: "Your faith has made you whole." Now some would have us believe that the word "faith" means religion, and that s/he was healed because s/he believed a particular set of religious beliefs. Nothing can be farther from the truth.

"Your faith has made you whole." Does this mean the person's faith was: Catholic? Methodist? Protestant? Jewish? Muslim?

The truth is so much simpler than this. When Jesus said, "Your faith has made you whole," he simply meant, because you believe you are whole, you are whole.

If you believe you are well, you are well. Go ask anyone who's responded to what we call the "placebo effect." One group gets the medicine, the other gets a sugar pill. Thirty percent of those getting the sugar pill get better. They get better because they believed they were getting the medicine. They got better because they believed.

Jesus, to me, is a great master because of his belief. Jesus NEVER doubted. That is what separates him from all others. He never once allowed a doubt to enter his thoughts. This is why he told everyone: "Your faith has made you whole." ("Believe as I do and you will be healed.")

Let me show you where he says this:

In John 14:10, Jesus says (I will paraphrase because translations are never 100% accurate): "What I say to you does not come from me, but from the Father who dwells within me. He does this work, not I."

He goes on to say, "You can believe me that the Father is doing all this, or you can believe for the sake of the accomplishments, but either way, if you believe as I do, you will be able to do as I do and even more."

This is an amazing gift from Jesus to the world. The simple knowledge that if we believe we are healed, we are healed; healed this very instant.

Then how come it doesn't work? you ask.

Because we DON'T believe. Who could believe such nonsense? Believe you are healed and you are healed. Nonsense!

The reason we don't heal is that we do not believe we can heal.

If there is the slightest doubt, then the healing does not take place.

Must you believe in Jesus? that Jesus is Lord? Must you belong to a church? Must you...?

The simple truth is this and this is all we have to believe to be healed: The spirit of our Creator resides within us all; it is our life force; it is what connects us to all things; it is all there really is (all else is an illusion that goes away when we leave here).

The simple truth is: all we have to do to heal is believe that we can heal; believe that we are all inspired, inhabited, infiltrated with the great spirit of our Creator and that through our Creator's love nothing is impossible.

To put it simply and plainly, believe that you are healed and you are.

I know this, because once, when I was very sick and scared and on the verge of meeting up with my Creator again, a healer came into my life, gave me tools, love, and showed me a light that refused to go out. It clicked. Suddenly I knew I was healed and I was. That knowing was simply a belief carried to the nth power.

You too have that knowing. Bring it into your consciousness and you too are healed.

Bless you.
