When I have company, they’re
always amazed at the amount of time I spend mixing up my morning yogurt, and
then they taste it…and they’re hooked. So, here’s the best stuff in the world.
Mix
your low fat plain yogurt half and half with a creamy coconut milk or coconut
cream.
Add a
teaspoon of powdered vitamin C. My favorite is NOW’s Vitamin C Complex.
Open a
capsule of Acetyl L-Carnitine and one of just L- Carnitine and pour the contents
into the mixture. Open a capsule of Alpha Lipoic Acid and pour its contents in.
(Men: add two capsules of Maca). Open a cap of Resveratrol and add
it. If you’re dieting, take a teaspoon of ephedra powder and add it. Yes, you
can still buy ephedra bulk herb on the web.
Add
one organic egg yoke, and pour in some organic grape juice concentrate.
Add
some extra probiotics. I keep a special brand that requires refrigeration in my
fridge for just this. (Note: I love iFlora, but iFlora is made to be taken in
pill form.)
Add a
tablespoon or so of Goji Power Concentrate (or Goji Pom Power concentrate), a
scoop of Acai Powder.
If you
have old bananas lying around, smash those up into your mix.
Finally, I always add a berry: raspberries, blueberries,
blackberries,
Goji berries, or strawberries. Really, you
can add any fruit you want, you can even make a fruit salad, but I really prefer
berries since they are such a superfood.
Mix it
all up, put some Omegasentials on top, and for those who want even more
roughage, add one of those high fiber cereals. And by High Fiber, I mean over 10
grams of fiber per serving.
Enjoy.
Now,
some of you will ask, why not just take the vitamins and supplements separately?
In the
past we’ve talked about this: always take your supplements (or try to take them)
with some food that contains the vitamins you are taking. This simply adds a
synergetic effect to the whole process. When the body eats a berry, it expects
all the phytonutrients from that berry to be there, thus it’s ready for the
extra resveratrol you’ve added. Adding these things to your food just makes them
more absorbable and usable. And the combination of Grape Juice and raw egg gives
you a shot of B-12 and you need not add any sweetener to the yogurt.
Let
your food be your medicine. And this yogurt recipe is one healthy shot of
medicine.
