Ingredients (as always, as organic as possible)
cup ice (Optional)
cup diced pineapple (optionally frozen)
2 ounces pineapple juice
½ Cup Coconut
Milk Powder (more if you like it creamier)
1 ½ ounces white rum
1 ounce dark rum
Pineapple slices to garnish
Some people like this blended with ice while
other like it over ice. Either way, I never put ice cubes in my
NutriBullet. I just don’t think the blades were made to crush ice.
So, if you want one with
crushed ice, put the ice and everything else except for the
pineapple slices used as garnish into a blender. Blend until smooth
and frosty. Pour the drink into 2 glasses and then garnish the rim
with pineapple slices.
Otherwise put everything
into your NutriBullet, blend, and pour over ice and then garnish.
This is a question I get often so I thought I'd answer it here:
Doesn't alcohol turn to sugar in your blood stream?
Yes it does, eventually. It is not enough to "spike" your blood
sugar, but diabetics know this and they know to test their blood
sugar. When we talk about metabolic disorder and sugar, we are
talking about spiking your blood sugar. We don't want to do this.
So, as you can see, there are no extra sugars in this drink, and
after a good meal, with plenty of fiber, this can be a great treat
for sitting out on the deck and watching the sun set.
