First Do No Harm

Sloppy Joes

Ingredients (all organic if possible)

2 teaspoons macadamia nut oil or coconut oil
1 onion, diced (sweet is best if you can find it)
1 large red bell pepper,  diced
1 pound ground grass-fed ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 scoops stevia (using the scoop that comes in NOW Foods Better Stevia)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 can diced tomatoes (around 15 ounces)  (
fire-roasted are best!)
can tomato paste (just under 3 ounces)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Celtic Sea Salt and black pepper to taste, cayenne pepper optional

Oil up your frying pan and start with the onion and pepper over a medium heat. When they start to soften (3-4 minutes) add the ground beef. When the beef is nearly thoroughly cooked, drain the excess oil and stir in the spices, pepper, salt, garlic, chili powder, stevia and cook a couple of minutes.

Finally, combine the rest: apple cider vinegar, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce and cook for about 10 to 12 minutes at a low/medium heat.

Check your health food section for Annie's Worcestershire sauce. It's not got any crappy ingredients (fructose, and other chemicals).

Toast up slices of Julian Bakery's Net Zero Carb Bread and serve as an open faced sandwich. You can try a slice of tomato or cucumbers over the bread too before ladling on the Sloppy Joe mix.
